Patlabor 3 is a decent stand alone action anime movie and shouldn't be considered a sequel since the cast of the previous movies are not the main characters. However, it's a good movie that uses supernatural monsters for its plot accompanied by Kenji Kawai's signature music style. What I found the most interesting about the Patlabor series is that it portrays the anti-American military sentiment present in Japan. From military bases to threats to the Japanese special forces that the US would invade and take over it if Japan could not hold against a terror attack to a hollywood music director haplessly protesting against the Japanese special forces, Americans are not portrayed positively (for appropriate reasons). It's a common theme shared by many blockbuster franchises such as Akira and Ghost in the Shell (2nd Gig).

^don't mean to bother but care to answer my last two questions?

1) Answer is on my MAL page

2)I just have have a habit of using those types of emoticons.

I thought loli simply meant depiction of young girls acting as adults but remain physically in a child like form since it's a distinct Japanese thing in animation, not borderline hentai. That video clip is quite creepy.

I watched Batman Gotham Knight. It's a good set of short stories about Batman between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. It's produced by all the best animation houses in Japan from Studio 4 C to Production I.G. I have to say my favorite short was Working through Pain. It's no surprise though since my favorite part of Batman Begins was when Bruce goes to train under a monk.

My favorite scene:

Another excellent episode of Kimi no Todoke. Karma is such a bitch for Kurumi :D So glad Sawako has realised her own feelings

Radish?

Should I watch it? The plot sounds too "shoujo" but it does seem to have similarities with Kare Kano.

"Working through Pain" is also my favourite episode out the lot

Regarding Kimi no Todoke, it's the best shoujo anime I've watched so far. It does have similarities with Kare Kano (which I've also seen) but the characters portrayed in that are more adult compared to Kimi no Todoke. It realistically captures what one goes through at school, with parts I can personally relate to. And the facial expressions/thought process of Sawako are just pure comedy, you'll love her character :D

The first episode will definitely determine whether you should watch it or not (Y)

Still wish i could find more stuff like Gantz and Elfen lied :( then again i have not had the time to look around. Also Anyone else wish that Candidate for Goddess was actually finished and not just Poof its gone.

@Masked Forever: I fully agree with Radish?. Can't say anything about Kare Kano as I haven't watched it (Recommendable?). Though I do bet you're gonna like it right from the get go.

@Radish

Thanks for the suggestion.

Gantz and Elfen lied

Check out Speed Grapher, Blood: The Last Vampire, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, Ninja Scroll, Berserk and Basilisk.

I recommend Mnemosyne, nice eye opener

One of the few anime series with the worst character consistency. My jaw dropped when the anime went from awesome to hentai over its short six episode run.

Here's my response from a post I made on the series in the MAL forums:

Interesting feature:

There are way too many references to fertility symbols and the ying yang relationship of men and women... The last episode makes me want to classify this anime as hentai. Let me ruin the anime for you:

Did you know that the liquid that comes after breaking the fruit looks like something from the male reproductive system and how all the women in this anime somehow moan in ecstasy? XD

Kare Kano is recommendable since it is the ONLY shoujo anime/manga series that I thoroughly enjoyed. Maybe I'm biased because I felt like I could relate to Asaba on a personal level and absolutely loved Yukino and Miyazawa. The anime is a complete disaster since the mangaka and producer had a huge fight over how the manga should be portrayed in the later episodes.

Watch anime then read manga series immediately after. Skip every anime episode you think is simply a slideshow and too Evangelion-esque.

The anime adaptation uses the material from the first seven volumes of the manga, stopping just before the school's annual cultural festival.

The anime was cut short because of creative differences; the author was upset and refused to allow another season because she believed Gainax was focusing too much on the comedy and not enough on the romance.[1] The difference in style after director Hideaki Anno quit following this decision is particularly noticeable.

I wouldn't class it as hentai. Horror/supernatural if anything but it does have sexual overtones. I like how the time line spans over the episodes and the world around Rin changes while she doesn't age. And that the episodes are standalone, so they can be enjoyed individually.

And new FMA: Brotherhood is out! :woot:

Then perhaps one may want to give Revolutionary Girl Utena ago.

on that note im now in the mood to re-watch MAI HiME.

To be honest, I never skip episodes. If either watch all episodes or watch none at all :p I'll look into Kare Kano this weekend :)

Not a bad episode of FMA: Brotherhood, had it's moments.

However, love the new OP song by CHEMISTRY and it's animation (Y) The punch was lacking with SCANDAL's ED song and the animation itself, felt a bit half-assed. Seems BONES put all their budget into the OP

Galaxy Express 999 seems to be an epic series despite it being the oldest (1978) anime series I've ever watched. It's amazing how intelligent the first episode is. Cyborgs, space travel, huge gap between the wealthy and the poor and a fantastic cliff hanger setup for the main protagonist. This definitely is one of the more remarkable series I've come across.

Of course it's epic, Leiji Matsumoto storytelling at it's finest :p The only series that makes me feel like a kid again with it's adventures

Watch this if you haven't already (Y)

I love Daft Punk. I never really entertained the idea of watching a long music video but I might be wrong about the movie. I'll definitely check it out in the coming days.

    • I just want to know why the volume control feature in the browser version keeps appearing then disappearing, here today - gone tomorrow. Now it's gone again. Annoying as hell.

    • This article does not make sense and it’s very evident, the bug wasn’t confirmed to exist, because the application itself runs on editions of Windows which make it impossible to run Hyper-V VMs on, “Basically, Claude Desktop on Windows spins up a 1.8GB Hyper-V virtual machine if you use Claude Cowork or agent mode even once.”, suggests the bug is caused by something else otherwise it would only happen to users with the capability of running Hyper-V VMs and that’s only if Hyper-V was enabled which is by default not enabled. The true issue is that the author who reported the bug used the incorrect terminology, it’s actually a container, not a VM that is being started by the way. There were users on macOS reporting the same issue, Hyper-V, doesn’t exist on that platform obviously. Every single user who confirmed the problem in the last week was either using macOS making this issue impossible to be relevant to them, or was a comment talking about WSL, which the author indicated 3 months ago was disabled.
    • “To prevent hallucination issues and keep the database clean, the platform uses a multi-agent verification loop to check code quality.” - This absolutely isn’t happening. ”Before the massive rise of LLMs, which tanked its traffic by about 50% over the last couple of years, Stack Overflow was the go-to website for millions of programmers seeking coding solutions.” - It still is trusted, because the community of users, blocked other users from submitting false and misleading answers generated by AI agents that can be convinced something it generated is actually incorrect even if it’s actually correct. The company itself doesn’t know what it wants to be so it keeps trying and failing to introduce AI features to the platform. This effort will also fail, already submitted one successful poison pill, look forward to generating more.
