hey Radish, love your new sig :)

Thanks :)

Finished watching the two Nasu OVA's and I loved the second OVA much more than the first. Great relationships within the cycling team, nice dose of humour and awesome drive/teamwork with loads of tension! (Y)

Character design/scenery reminded me of Ghibli's work but it was actually produced by Madhouse :p

Radish?

FAKKU YEAH!!1!eleven!

I can't wait for cycling/running season to start!

(note from excitement: nasu is probably the best sports anime movie. Beautiful women, depiction of cycling techniques such as quick breathing and drafting, and AMAZING sprinting finish. What is there not to like?!)

^ would you happen to know an anim? that is based on Football? (IE the game you play with your foot)

Captain Tsubasa. (The first anime I ever saw when I was a kid.)

Moero! Top striker

Wild Striker

However, there's nothing that can touch cycling when it comes to sports anime apart from martial arts. Soccer is getting more popular since Japan have consistently qualified for the World Cup. They're a decent team too but they're in a very tough group. Netherlands certainly is going to claim first while the second wild card going to Cameroon. It could be a surprise win for Japan though depending on how they do.

I agress (although I've only watched one cycling anime). I watched Over Drive and simply loved it. Any recommendations for other anime like over drive? :D

Nasu. The huge screenshot is of that. Just click on the image to get more information. You might want to check out Prince of Tennis to check if its your cup of tea. To me, it was like a group of models posing for girls and exaggerating each shot. Think Captain Tsubasa (exaggerated 1 minute windups before taking a shot at goal or even pass) but in tennis.

There are only two anime that match Over Drive and that's Nasu and Slam Dunk (I read the manga instead of watching the cheap animation).

Slam Dunk is a must read/watch if you love GTO and/or its prequels.

Nice sig, Radish. Is Yumi-chan rubbing off on you? :p

And just what's wrong with J-Trance?

I like J-Trance (well, some) but I can't stand these J-pop songs that open for some anime shows that feature squirrel voices and fast beats. It's as if Crazy Frog or chipmunks were back in style. >_<

I raise your Black Heaven song with real Japanese death metal.

:| They ruined the song! It's one of the most beautiful singing voices I've heard in years and now it's reduced to a bunch of trash cans being bashed together. >_< Chikusho, my ears are bleeding! HIGH FREQUENCY IS HIGH!

What that mix is pure class.

also the best thing to come from the sharpnel team

Hell no but those light brown eyes are totally mesmerising  :p

Never get bored of DJ Jinnai's remixes.

On the topic of OP/EDs, I always found Elfen Lied's ED to be an interesting choice. It was a bit out of place with the series. You'd have a whole slew of people murdered in an episode and have a really depressing episode and then suddenly it would break out into this really upbeat song...

Also it sounded a hell of alot like:

I raise your Black Heaven song with real Japanese death metal.

You did not just call Maximum The Hormone "real Japanese death metal" because their music is far away from death metal :p

On a side note: has anyone started watching Durarara yet? I'm gonna watch the first episode today :)

    • EU Commission explains why Siri AI isn't launching in the EU, and Apple is to blame by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple This week at Apple’s 2026 developers conference, the iPhone maker unveiled the upgraded Siri after more than a year of delays. The new Siri is now called Siri AI, and it's powered by Google Gemini models. While Siri AI is preparing to roll out to Apple users worldwide, the company’s EU customers might need to wait much longer before getting their hands on the new assistant. Shortly after announcing iOS 27, Apple said in a blog post that Siri AI is not coming to the EU anytime soon due to hurdles posed by the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and other regulatory requirements. To comply with the DMA in the EU, Apple apparently needs to open Siri AI to rival assistants on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Apple has refused to do so, which has resulted in Siri AI being delayed for its EU users. The company argues that such a move would put users’ privacy at risk. In a statement to Neowin, a European Commission spokesperson provided more details about why Siri AI will not be rolled out to Apple customers in the region. The statement first noted that the DMA does not prohibit Apple from launching its services in the EU and that the company is simply required to comply with the law. The European Commission spokesperson added that, since Apple is considered a gatekeeper under the DMA, it is “obliged to give third parties access to equivalent features as they give to its own products. Because the DMA is precisely about giving users the choice to use the product they find best suits their needs.” Moreover, the spokesperson said the Commission has been in contact with Apple, though the company “did not develop proposals for DMA compliant interoperability solutions.” The statement also clarified that companies designated as gatekeepers cannot leverage their status and products, such as operating systems, to favor their own AI services. The first public beta of iOS 27 will roll out next month, while the stable version is expected to launch this fall following the release of the iPhone 18 series. It remains unclear when Apple will be able to resolve its DMA-related compliance issues with the European Commission and bring Siri AI to its European customers.
