I could really careless as to what you say to be honest. I want to see the better Halo and Gears play me, no seriously please.

Thank you thank you. Why don't I? I don't want a bunch of non good gamers on it.

Thank you you make my point valid.

Oh nevermind, I forgot you are the greatest gamer in the world

Man I hope you are banned from XBL

Underoath, I didn't go through the whole thread but read 2 pages to get an idea what's going on... I think you would get along with my brother, lol.

I personally find it distasteful and classless to trash talk. What's the point really? To **** off the opposition, or humiliate, or embarrass them? Is that how you would want someone else to treat you? Some may argue that the whole point of trash talking is to rile up the opponent, so they step up their game... uhh duh? It's actually kind of counter-intuitive really if you think about it. If someone is getting their ass beat, don't you think they would automatically step up already?

To that note, the whole trash talking just ****es off everyone and pretty soon it just turns into a **** match of two idiots online hurtling curses at each other. Why?! You're there to play a game, not to insult anyone.

Lastly, I find it stupidly hilarious. As someone else pointed out, and the picture above... "cuz talking sh-it in person is dangerous"... I bet a good 90% of these cyber punks would not dare to whisper an insult to me in person. Think about it this way, it's easy to be a dickweed online, but does that change who you are in real life? Probably not. Learn to respect, and others will respect you.

Hmm...sucking p**** does not count bro. Add me and play me please.

And that's the reason I won't be playing you. I play to enjoy myself, not to get trash talked to by whiny might-as-well-be 10 year-olds who think they're the **** when really they just end up looking and sounding like douchebags. Actually being good doesn't change that fact either. You're not worth my time.

I've gotta give you a bit of credit though - you helped me prove my point much faster than I imagined. You also said please, but that doesn't absolve you.

-Spenser

Who ever would of thought that a topic complaining about internet idiots would drag up one of the biggest on the boards

People respect good players, simple as that, what they don't respect is people that let you know they are good players. It's not needed, just shut up and show them how good you are. You don't need to belittle people about things.

Isn't this what the zones are for (Recreation, Family, Pro, Underground) or is Live infested with these arse holes across the board?

Yes.

According to this Microsoft KB article,

A player?s gamer zone is displayed on the gamer card and is used for advanced match making. This enables players who prefer a friendlier, easy going contest with less trash talk to be paired up with similar gamers, and players who prefer an intense, smack-talking session to also be paired up with similar gamers. Some things to note about zones:

When matchmaking pairs players, the matchmaking does not filter out players who have different zones. The matchmaking results are sorted in priority based on similar zones.

There are plenty of ways for someone in one zone to end up in a totally opposed zone. When searching manually for games, you are the one choosing the game in the end.

The parties systems in Gears of War 2, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 tend also to hide the zones: a party with 6 Recreation/Pro players can be easily matched with a group of Underground.

UND3RxOATH if you want to get out of a hole you have to stop digging.

I remember you, you was good and I respected your ability and now I am just laughing at you as tbh I had no idea you were such a drama queen. I did think the over emotional XBL messages were a bit weird but I just let that pass and now I see it's beyond weird and on to pathetic.

Sort yourself ou- a F' it just GTFO!

audio, not sure of the context for you quoting me, but guess the one year moratorium is over ;)

listen, none of this is helping from any of you. did underoath ever actually trash talk to YOU? if so, take it in stride as you know the guy from here, and you know him to be a positive, helpful member. even the best of people can be annoying sometimes, not a big deal.

posting Boris fantasy pics isn't going to help, my Glaswegian friend, just like your fish pic of a year and a half ago didn't help. the topic is bullies - i don't believe any of us are so let's act the part.

why doesn't XBL initiate a Digg type system were you can high rank and low rank players once a night after you've played a full match with them; and the lower your rank gets, the less your vote counts?

that would weed out most of the a-holes

Yes. A real positive member that tells people like me that I suck p**** (here, mind you, on this forum) when all I said was "I'm better than you." (referring to Halo).

What a great guy.

I just sit with my mic on mute if none of my buddies are online, but I also sit with it connected in case I need to apologise to someone on my team for killing them by accident (the poor dude might have been in the middle of a killing spree and I just ended it for him!).

But people who "trash" talk are just plain and simple egoistic idiots (regardless of their age) who take no one into consideration................................ regardless of the way the people they play against/with play (gaming skill), they need a "b!tch slap" to wake up!

I never knew that "good game" was translated to "YOU SUCK BALLZ! wii 0wnd ur punk a$$ b!tchez m0th3r-effin a$$es!"

Why, why, why, why, why............. WHY!?

Thanks for that, I urge you to go back through this topic reading how Underoath behaves and claims he behaves then see what you're standing up for.

If you're happy with that, kudos to you, go enjoy some online games with him.

That system would be abused as much as the current reputation system is abused. One will get low ranks because he is from another country, because he beat some sore losers or for any other stupid other reasons.

Just look here on the forum with the rankings: there are plenty of people and threads with bad rankings just because the thread were made by a specific user or because some users are childish to rate low someone who does not share the same opinion.

From the previous posts of underoath, frankly, I am not interested playing with or against him.

It's like the thread: "Does you NXE avatar look like you?", his comments are not good points for him.

It falls down to the defintion of a good gamer. Some can think that a good gamer is someone who masters the games and who has long victory streaks.

As far as I am concerned, a good gamer is a fair gamer, someone I enjoy playing with: no cheating, no trash talking, no spawnkilling, no xenophobia.

am i strange for having a sense of closeness to a forum regular? isn't that kind of camaraderie one of the main things we come here for?

i am standing up for the guy because he's one of us, he's earned that right, we all did. i would do that for almost everyone here, including people from Scotland.

the trash talking, including what he said to you Spenser, yeah, that can be taken in many ways, i know. it's easy and justifiable to get offended by it - just as it is to see it as part of male bonding. this kind of attitude has been part of gaming since kids were huddled around cocktail coin op Space Invaders. I remember being humiliated by my friends when Out Run came out and i kept timing out quickly after lining up to play for twenty minutes. but this was when i was thirteen for pete's sake.

not saying anyone's wrong to be offended - that's very individual, i'm just saying context comes first. at any rate, underoath, you may want to cool it a bit before these guys make us dance the Tyburn jig arr!

EDIT: spenser, to him "i'm better than you" or to that effect sounds much worse than you suck **** et al sounds to you. the former is very substantive and poignant to someone who's obviously a highly competitive gamer. the latter is just juvenile beer talk i wouldn't even take seriously.

Oh I'm not offended. It takes a heck of a lot more than name calling to offend me. I'm more amused. What I don't see is where he's earned our respect and support. Making some good posts here and there does not absolve one of being a complete *** online at times and the latter is grounds for that loss of respect.

Most of us have no problems playing nicely online. Whether we win or get beat we can go on with a "good game" or some such if we're wearing a headset. I personally might trash talk if I'm playing solely with some close friends, but they know I'm messing with them and they usually do the same. This guy, though, doesn't seem to have any sense of decency when it comes to playing, and especially winning, a game. He's not joking around when he trash talks and he doesn't care who he does it to. I don't know how you can say you feel close enough to the guy to defend that, but to each his own. I find people like him disgusting and it's people like him that make me really glad that Bungie pioneered the ability to mute a person in about a second. I've used that quite liberally.

Quite frankly if what he said to stifler6478 is classed as male bonding by yourself, you're just as bad as him.

As for being part of us, I couldn't care less if he was my brother, if he goes online an acts in the way he portrays I would be dismissive of him and would refuse to play online with him.

Anyway I've had enough of trying to be the mentor around here, go game however you want. One day though, yes one day I promise you (Underoath) will probably grow out of acting like a prat online. A good % of the offenders tend to, it's just what age they do it at that's the sad part.

Hence why young gamers get offloaded with the stereotype of being angry little prats, as in a very high % of the cases they are the offenders. Older people tend to have a more level head and game for proper bonding and fun.

So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games store brought along two games from wildly different genres this week for PC gamers to claim. Robobeat is a rhythm-based action game that lets you become a bounty hunter that can wall run, slide, and bunny hop around his opponents. All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station. It uses tabletop RPG-inspired elements like dice rolls and timers to change up how players approach its activities, factions, and storylines. The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways end on June 25. On the same day, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought will become the next freebies. The bundle space expanded with two more collections from Humble this week too. The June 2unes bundle is up first, carrying plenty of rhythm games. This carries Kill the Music and Rhythm Witch in the $5 starting tier, followed by Trombone Champ, Spin Rhythm XD, and Thumper in the $7 tier. • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two. Poll Poll: How much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost? $59.99 $69.99 $79.99 $89.99 $100 or more Submit Vote If you have a very specific prediction in mind, sound off in the comments below.
