So called 'friends' on XBL

guys with female avatars always creep me out. sorry but if you want to be a women in a virtual game i question everything about your manhood.

I dunno, one could make the argument that it's actually more manly to play as a woman. After all, you're staring at your character all day in something like World of Warcraft. Might as well stare at a hot chick the whole time rather than a guy.

Haha, that is another issue. Take a look at the avatar the topic creator made... looks kind of creepy to me. And sorry to say, she does look a bit tranny or cross dresser to me.

I think it's a little bit weird to have a female avatar if you're a male, but if they talked to you before online and got along and knew you were a guy I see no reason for all of them to delete you. You said you did share e-mails and pictures with one, though, which makes me wonder if they didn't delete you for your avatar but just because the girl you were talking to suddenly decided she doesn't like you for some reason.

Either way, doesn't really matter too much. It's strange to have an avatar of a different sex, but there's nothing that can stop you from doing it and there's no policy saying you have to match your avatar to you.

thats one side. i see video games as escapism and you are putting yourself or your fantasy into a game. So if you picture in your head this sweet amazon running around killing stuff more power to you. But seeing as the avatar was intended to either represent you or your personality its a little weird. its just my .02 i could actually care less either way.

Here's a thought, girls talk (Y) :p

They might have talked when you weren't around and thought to themselves there is something more sinister with you dressing like a female and being much older than them. It's definitely not "normal" behaviour, even on XBL..

What I bolded sounds about right to me. For whatever reason they decided they did not like you any more. Might have been the avatar, might have been something you said and do not even recall, might have been numerous things. Whatever it was it was probably really stupid and it sounds like you are probably much better off without them.

Honestly the more I think about it, the more I would think guys would have the issue with the whole avatar thing, not girls, especially if you already had talked to them before the avatars. It just does not really add up to me.

I'm SO glad I haven't been so unfortunate to deal with ****tards like that. They act exactly the same as they would in real life.

Sure you can say that you find the females to have more options, etc... but I think the general consensus of making an avatar is to make one that represents you, be it how you look or your personal style. I imagine that to be the population's mindset.

Really? I actually find that they have a much smaller wardrobe to choose from.

Considering like 95% of Xbox players are guys.

Oh, I actually have no idea. I was just going off on what the topic creator said in the first page. Didn't try to create a female myself... you, on the other hand... why don't you take a seat over here :D j/k.

    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
    • Interesting read. I knew the adware was quite controversial at the time, however never realised to the point The Guardian wrote an article about Patchou. I just said no and enjoyed his creation, I’d probably be a lot more wary of something like that today though.
