COD WaW or Left4Dead?

Recommended Posts

I currently have Dead Space, COD WaW and Left4Dead rented through Gamefly, and want to make room on my queue for Prince of Persia. I'll be returning Dead Space once I am finished with it, which would prolly be around mid december. So, I'm thinking of keeping either COD WaW or Left4Dead.

Right now Gamefly is having a $10 off sale, so buying either game would be $35, plus I have $5 gamefly buck, which means the game would actually be $30.

Here's my dilemma. I love Left4Dead more than COD WaW, but as far as a game with a longer lifespan, I have no clue. WaW has the incentive of the online ranking and unlocking system, plus completing the Co-op and zombie mode challenges, which adds to the MP EXP. Left 4 Dead has no online ranking, so I would constantly have to find friends to play this game with online, and I don't know how long people would be playing this game for into next year. Lemme know what you think.

You know my answer on what to keep. ;)

Well, you can still play L4D with randoms as well. Just not as many randoms vs COD5 :p It also has that awesome drop in/out AI when you hit pause (Y)

Seriously I don't get the hype behind COD5, just play the better version aka COD4

Zombie mode doesn't beat zombie game. FACT! :p

Reviews speak for themselves boyos!

L4D > COD5

The reviews can say all they want. But no matter what the reviews say, it still comes down to Massive deciding on which gameplay/type he likes better.

And besides, I haven't seen you wanting to play MP with him in L4D :p

Call of duty is my favorite but i waited over 2 yrs for L4D...

My advice is keep L4D because its 4player CO-OP that is just outright fun!

New style of gaming (not that different though) but still its a nice break from usually

But....

you are using gamefly and can get them back at no charge .... so its not that much of a decision.

Yup I agree, it depends on his taste because both games are vastly different MP experiences. I've been too busy to play games full stop, so that's nothing negative in L4D's book ;)

Then let's wait for the most played list from MN and then we can all point and laugh at you :p

Doesn't matter, the review scores show L4D is the better game, nothing changes that ;). I don't care if 1 million 6yr olds are all playing COD5 every night. It still sucks :p

Review scores are based off one lonely guy's preference, most played list is based off the users opinion

Mob opinion > One guys opinion.

kk? :p

That's the only problem with COD MP. Going to get worse after Xmas.

    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
    • As a game dev, today was really depressing. They announced that Blueprints will be deprecated in UE6 to be fully replaced by their sh**ty Python-like Verse language... They also announced that 5.8 will be the last version of UE5 until UE6 comes out in MID 2029!!!! They have completely lost the plot.
