Default MS Word Language wont stay as English UK

I think I am going to go crazy if I need to change the default language to English UK on MS word spelling and grammar checking one more time...

I go to tools, language, set language, click english uk, click default, it asks if I want to save changes to the Normal template and I say yes, I click okay and then the dialogue box closes and it's fine.

2 or 3 sentances later, and if not this then next time I open a document all of a sudden it's English US again and I need to change it again.

Why won't it stay as English UK?!?!?!

I am using Microsoft Word 2003 and am on Windows Vista if that matters.

Please will someone tell me what I am missing here! Please!

Quick thought, maybe your Regional settings in the control panel are set to another language?

Hmm, good idea but they're all set to United Kingdom, thanks for the reply though.

Any ideas anyone?
