Going to Pakistan in December

I will be going to Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Jhelum for 21 days

ive been planning for a year now, I am going with my wife, mother and father. our family is originally from Pakistan so we decided we need to visit Pakistan now. I know you might think why its a bad time but we are prepared.

Canon Rebel XTi

Canon 18-55mm Image Stabilizer Lens

Circular Polarizer

5 CF Cards 4 GB Each

60 inch tripod

Thinking of getting the following before going to Pakistan:

Either

1) Canon 50mm 1.8

OR

2) Canon 75-300mm

What do you suggest?

Its not as bad im pretty sure of it. no one is going to target a dark skinned person there. If I looked like a caucasian American then yes maybe

slowly adding more as they come, this is only day 4 of my 18 day trip, net connection is a bit slow so upload is slow, but im constantly adding more pictures.
