You got your Xbox 360 controller in my PS3

I wouldn't say this is useless at all. A lot of people wish they could use a 360 controller on their PS3, and this device makes that possible. Six-axis being lost is hardly the greatest tragedy ever either...let's take Resistance 2 for example. It's used to melee attack, and that's it.. I find R3 easier to use. Other games don't really make much use for it either, and certain ones that do (GTA4) use it for features not many use due to seating (laying) positions.

+1 it isn't very good for FPS i think...also is it just me or are the thumbsticks too 'rounded'? like the top of them? on the 360 they are indented so you thumbs don't slip out, which i like

QFT. I think Sony's design team eats a lot of hard candy and they all have sticky fingers. To the rest of the world the sticks and "triggers" are a problem.

Sony has always designed Playstations like that. Which is one of the reasons I disliked my PSP and PS2. Made the edges of my fingers hurt/slip after a while of intense Socom-play.

The problem is most devs know that the triggers are garbage and typically map primary fire to R1. So unless this device allows re-mapping of button assignments you'd be using RB for primary fire.

some fps games you can change the controller map and some even let you customise. so if anyone goes for this then i would recommend checking the conrtoller maps first for your preferred games.

i do agree though that the 360 controller is alot more optimised for FPS's and if the controller maps allow the triggers to be used for firing then all the much better

I like the PS3 controller, I just personally prefer the 360 controller. The analog sticks are placed better in my opinion, and the triggers are far better for FPS games (which is primarily what I play). I have a really hard time adapting to the way FPS games shoot on the PS3, since most don't use the triggers.

buy Giotech Real Triggers thats what I did but I have no problem using R1 to fire

Yeah I have the RealTriggers as well (I actually may have a different brand but maybe not), but those little pieces of plastic really make the world of difference. With that said, I want this personally.

So can it be ordered yet? I am not sure going by their site and the sites they link to, it makes it seem like it is available but then I see no links to actual purchase it?? If there is a link to buy it and I am missing it, please post it here.

But yeah, 360 controller on my PS3, Killzone coming out in a few months, goes without saying I would love for this thing to actually work and work good. I will get one in a heartbeat.

Yes the Control Sticks on the PS3 are horrible, but just as bad as the D-pad on the 360. FPS on 360 and just about anything else on PS3. Sixaxis.. I have a decent amount of games that support and use it well. Blast Factor, Locoroco, and Folklore off the tip of my head. Folklore is a GREAT action RPG and I would say that without Sixaxis controls the game would suck.

For the record, the best controller for a racing game is Logitech's G25. Hori's arcade sticks for fighting games and Mouse and Keyboard for FPS. It's a game by game scenario and when im forced to I'll usually use a PS3 controller for just about any genre over the 360 one (specially fighters... ugh Street Fighter 2 HD must be horrible on the 360). 360 controller wins out on FPS though.

Why is everyone hating on the PS3 Dual Shock 3 controller? I think its better than the 360's bulkyness

The PS3 controller apparently was not designed for use in human hands; the side-by-side thumbsticks don't work well at all for FPS games, and the analog "triggers" don't travel far enough.

I cannot stand the DualShock controller. When I do pick up a PS3, I'll be getting one of these adapters as well. Hopefully it'll work with the Logitech DriveFX as well, so I can play Gran Turismo 5 with my wheel :D

I've seen those, but I'm not sure how much Ben charges. He does say email for prices as they aren't hard to make, but to make and then (I assume) import to UK would cost a fair bit I guess. Parts, labour, shipping for a hand-made one-off product...:(

i've actually e-mailed him before to see how much he charges to make a PS3 controller with a 360 shell...$500 :\

I know some effort is involved, but 500 dollars?!

If he made it reasonable, he'd probably get a decent bit of income on the side.

There's definitely some potential sales lost there that he's priced himself out of. Maybe I'll learn how to make a PS360 controller and make boat loads of money, laughing at him for not taking advantage of the opportunity.
