sUpErpAws Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 I'm currently setting up a HTPC with the following setup: HTPC: Gigabyte G41 motherboard with SPDIF-in and HDMI/DVI HDTV with SPDIF-out and HDMI/DVI Analog 5.1 speakers The setup will have the following connections: 1) speakers <--analog audio-- HTPC <--digital audio-- HDTV 2) HTPC --HDMI/DVI--> HDTV When the HTPC is playing movies/music/etc, it will output digitally to the HDTV, and analog audio through the sound card. It should work with no problem. The issue I forsee is when I watch TV; is it possible to get the audio passthrough to the HTPC, then have the HTPC decode DD/DTS from the TV, to the 5.1 speakers?
