Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

I'm still enjoying the show for now. I do wonder, what effect would Ando have on Peters modified power?

It would probably extend it further, so he can carry multiple abilities for the time being but thats just assumption really.

I say Peter himself doesn't Fully understand his new ability/abilities yet, and has get to be Re-trained like with Claude... I think.

Nope, he can only have one ability at a time. You saw Rappy's posting about Kring confirming that he has a new ability. He leeches powers, he's only used one at a time, and he's said so on the show. What more do ya need?

He doesn't want to admit that I was right.

HOW long will you be right?

Comon, you honestly think Peter will have one power at a time, for the Rest of the season?

She and that black guy (Claude) was both in Max Payne too.

Claude? or do you mean Knox?

I gotta admit i don't really understand how he can now only hold one power, I can't recall any of the other "leech" characters having a limit on the powers they can absorb. I think they'll probably change it as he learns more about his new ability.

I thought that the whole idea was that each person's DNA unlocked a different power. So, once Peter stabbed himself with the power-medicine-thing, shouldn't it have unlocked the original power?

Lol, or something may be flawed, or something holding his potential back.

That's what a few of us have been saying. I bet the writer's have already conjured up a solution: leeching a leeching power!

Yeah, I haven't read this for the past couple pages so if this had been stated I apologize.

I could definitely see him touching Syler and it unlocking multiple powers for him.

Also, I think the best thing to come out of Heroes in a long time is the Slyer storyline at the moment, I love how he's hunting down his father and I really like the angle with who I'm just going to start calling his apprentice.

What would happen if Peter took the Hunger?...he would want to kill and take powers and would he then lose the hunger once he took the power?

Good point!

He will get the ability to understand other people's abilities, and never touch a hero again.

He's gonna kill some bad guys just to feed his hunger.

Finally got some time off from studies to watch the episode in peace. Overall I thought this episode closed some lingering holes from last week's episode: Peter can only hold one power at a time (at least for now until he learns otherwise), Nathan is starting to have regrets on how the Hunter is pressuring him to take extreme action, Angela is not helping Nathan anymore and somehow has info on the Hunter.

Certainly noticed Rachel Mills at the very end and good to see she actually has an on-TV role. But, one thing I am still wondering is how she ended up working for Nathan after she was taken by Angela in the last webisode of The Recruit series?

Yeah the actual person who messaged her is called "Rebel"

Well, if you remember from the graphic novels, Hana Grittelman was actually sending wireless messages under the name of "Wireless". So in the same way, "Rebel" could very well just be a codename for whoever is trying to hide their identity and help gather the heroes.

Speaking of gathering heroes, anyone starting to see this having some resemblance to X-Men: The Last Stand? People with abilities versus the government, except different plot scenario and ideology.

This weeks episode was better than last weeks, but still below par for me.

People suggesting Micah as the text message person might be right, because the caller ID said something like Unknown (M) or something similar. It definitely had an M in it anyways.

Oh and about them needing money, Peter actually points out the fact they wont be able to use their credit cards and bank accounts.

The (M) could very well just stand for mobile. But then again, the only other character alive that we know has the power to communicate with technology is Micah. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I may have missed this, but how does Luke know who Sylar's father is and where he is?

He lives near him so I suppose they might of been friends with him and knew where he was going to stay.

@revreddy yeah I think its because Rachel found out Angela was close to her mum and don't forget her mum isn't dead either.

Right, they lived down the street from each other, but I don't recall any mention of him other than that and Luke knowing where he is. That just doesn't make any sense.

Well for some reason Sylar took the SWAT person and kept him hostage in a house near his fathers thinking that they would know the whereabouts and if they didn't he probably would killed them anyway.

No, he didn't take the agent there because he thought they knew where his father was. He took him there to torture and kill the owners of the house in front of the agent. He tried to torture the agent but that didn't work. So he figured maybe he would talk if he saw other innocent people suffering.

Oh yeah my mistake

    • I can't believe Starmer is still there...his party lost so big. He's a stubborn coot, but this is largely unenforceable, so I would imagine he'll be resigning soon. A key here is for parents to buy their kids phones sans Internet access--and set up the Internet at home, where mom and day can, you know, act like parents instead expecting the government to raise their kids.
    • EA launches in-game advertising platform for brands to "connect with audiences" by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The gaming giant Electronic Arts is exploring more ways to inject real-life brands into its games. Announced today as EA Advertising, the new platform is attempting to make it easier for brands to reach out for deals with the company and put their products inside titles like EA Sports FC, Madden, NHL, Skate, or The Sims. EA revealed that its EA Sports side of the company brings in "hundreds of millions of players across console, PC, and mobile" every year. Fan engagement of these titles was also touted as being "extraordinary," with 23,000 NFL seasons worth of games being played in Madden NFL daily, while EA Sports FC sees over a billion matches a day. “Players come to EA’s games and live experiences every day to play, watch, create and connect,” said David Tinson, Chief Experiences Officer at Electronic Arts. “That gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience, while maintaining authenticity in the worlds our teams are building. With EA Advertising, we’re helping brands become part of those moments in ways that are relevant and built for players.” Using the new program EA Advertising, brands will be able to inject their products into games in real-time via dynamic placement. EA says partners will have access to everything from stadium signage in sports games and targeted adverts to in-game content custom-made for the brands. These are described as additions designed to "enhance, not disrupt" experiences. "In these interactive gameplay environments, brands become part of the game itself, reflecting how players engage with advertising in real-world contexts," adds the company "Brands can activate across live environments, tailoring placements to meet campaign objectives, and update campaigns with ongoing optimization informed by aggregated engagement insights." Current real-world brand partnerships EA has built into its games include Visa (EA Sports FC and College Football), Lowe's (EA Sports FC, Madden NFL, and College Football), Red Bull (EA SPORTS FC), Xfinity and Peacock (EA SPORTS FC), and Mountain Dew’s (College Football).

    • UK to ban under-16s from social media following a six-week trial with teenagers by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels A few months ago, Neowin reported that the UK was trialing a social media ban with 300 teenagers for six weeks, that testing has come to an end, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the country will ban under-16s from social media. Starmer said that this technology is making children unhappy and making it easier for bullies to harass and abuse them. He continued to talk about the addictive nature of social media, saying that it uses an infinite scroll designed to lock users in for hours. He said this interferes with children doing their homework, reading, playing with friends outside, and going to bed on time. Tackling the idea that nothing can be done about social media, Starmer said: The government’s action won’t stop at social media either, the PM said. It plans to take action on gaming services and livestreaming platforms. Right now, he said, strangers can contact any child unchecked. He said this wouldn’t happen in real life, and the government is going to stop it from happening online, too. The Labour government has overseen the introduction of the Online Safety Act, a big change to the internet which includes age verification on adult websites. This has led to a fair bit of backlash, but overall, the government is pushing ahead with these changes.
