Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

I dont think Peter took all of Sylars abilities. I think he can only hang onto one, but was able to choose which one to copy from Sylar. I say this because in the last few scenes where they are burning "Sylars" body, Peter is standing there with scars from where the blood was coming out of originally. If he truly took all of Sylars power he wouldnt have those scars.

Sylar isn't trying to "get out."

What's happening is Nathan is coming upon abilities he doesn't know he has, because Sylar's body does have them stored in there. They will manifest and he will become confused and not understand what's going on.

If "Sylar" has been erased from the brain, then it will be some internal conflict with Nathan. However, if "Sylar" has simply been repressed, he could easily come back, especially with Nathan having problems dealing with the reality of what's going on.

That makes sense.

EDIT: Forgot to say - I thought this finale was amazing. House & Heroes were great this week.

i think syler is gone for at least next season... but there will be a lot of nathan personal conflict... maybe the hunger will return. although may i say turning syler into nathan is f'd up and i applaud the writing team for doing something so morally questionable with main protagonists (yes they were shady before, but they were the bad guys then), and having this set up the tone for their "redemption" next season, because damn were the last 2 seasons and the beginning of this one bad.

and although i really don't want anymore syler plots, the potential of the cover up being exposed and sh*t just hitting the fan is just too good drama to pass up. and feels like a just due for going back and repeating their mistakes with secrecy and the company and all that... or syler could commit suicide out of identity crisis. that would give me satisfying closure with both characters. and then have angela do her nooooooo! again because she got all attached.

i will miss denko doing that syler sneer. it was spot on. pay that man.

    • Google Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving for OpenAI by Pradeep Viswanathan Noam Shazeer is best known as one of the co-authors of the 2017 “Attention Is All You Need” paper, which introduced the Transformer architecture that now powers most large language models. He also worked on several major Google AI projects, including LaMDA, before leaving the company in 2021 to co-found Character.AI. He also authored the Sparsely-gated Mixture of Experts (2016) paper, which is popular among the AI community. After falling behind OpenAI and Anthropic a couple of years ago, Google brought Shazeer back in 2024 as part of a major deal with Character.AI. Through this deal, along with Noam, several other researchers returned to Google DeepMind. More recently, he was a vice president of engineering at Google and a technical co-lead for Gemini. Today, Noam Shazeer announced on X that he is leaving Google and joining OpenAI. In his post, Shazeer said it was a difficult decision to move on, adding that he was proud of the Google team and what it had built together. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman welcomed the move with a post of his own, saying Shazeer was one of the people he had most wanted to work with since OpenAI’s early days. Google has made strong progress with Gemini over the past year, closing the gap with OpenAI in several areas. But losing Noam Shazeer is a major talent setback for them, especially after bringing him back less than two years ago by spending a fortune. For OpenAI, the hire adds one of the industry’s most experienced language model researchers to a team that is already pushing ahead with ChatGPT, Codex, and its next generation of frontier models.
