Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

A Cool New Power for a New Ali Character!

"Greg is a Twitter. Tell him to shush!"

This is what Heroes' hot little ice queen Ali Larter playfully jabs at costar Greg Grunberg, after his recent Twitter message stirred up quite a panic among many of you fans.

"Winding down shooting Season 3 Heroes," he posted on Twitter.com on Sunday. "Tough to say goodbye to crew not knowing if any or all of us will return next year."

Say whaaaa...?

Greg later backtracked in another post: "Don't get me wrong, Heroes is coming back next year, but some crew take other jobs, so it's tough."

From where we're sitting, that doesn't exactly explain the "any or all of us" in the first posting. So what exactly is going on?

I caught up with Ali at Cosmo's Fun Fearless Male Awards last night and here's what she told me...

Ali insists that as far as she knows, no decision has been made yet by NBC about the fourth season. But for the record, she is very much hoping the series sticks around.

"[Cancellation] would be terrible in my book. The cast just loves the show. We have such amazing writers. Bryan Fuller is coming back, which is so incredible. He wrote Nikki the first season. I connect with him on so many levels, and I think he's going to bring a strength back to the show. If the network doesn't want to bring us back I'll be really sad, but you know what, I just can't even go there. I think that the show was so strong first season, and we'll come back and get it back to where it should be."

NBC has yet to make any kind of official announcement regarding Heroes' fourth season and has until mid-May to decide its new fall lineup. (The series has been on a fairly steady ratings decline since the season-three premiere in September, dropping from 10 million to a new low of about 7 million viewers last night.)

Meanwhile, Spoiler Alert! It looks as though Ali may be playing yet another character in the coming weeks. When asked what's ahead for her character, she tells me, "Lots of water, lots of water. We did an incredible episode that Greg Yaitanes shot and that Bryan Fuller wrote. It's his first episode back. It's just so complex. It's so compelling, and he really has come up with another interesting power?another interesting way to understand what these characters are going through."b>

I knew you were going to say that. When it cut to commercial, I hoped that they would explain it this week so that I wouldn't have to see your posts for a week on him having multiple abilities.

NO!

Unlike people like YOU, I am NOT arrogant!

Unlike YOU, I am a VERY Humble person, NEVER acted I am always right!!!

Humbleness is evident in the way you portray yourself, not in boasting and proclaiming it. What you're doing is like the equivalent to a person walking around with a shirt that says, "I'm humble."

NO!

You sound like ThEmIsFiTiShErE when you use caps like that

Whatever, I just DON'T post a theory or opinion and say "I am Right".

Episode DOES that, ALL the time!

And HE goes on ALL week boasting that he IS right!

You initially posted that Peter can have more than one power and later edited your post negating that, and he was commenting that he was glad that you didn't have to go on for a week assuming he could have multiple powers, so I don't really see what the problem is and how he's being arrogant while you're screaming about your humbleness.

I didn't say you would be boasting, or arrogant, or anything.

Just that would be posting about it for a week while everyone had to refute it until, again, it was shown he could only have one at a time.

Thats why I was glad it was shown right away and not have to wait a week.

Jesus!

HOW many times have I INSISTED Peter has Multiple powers?

You can Search my old posts, if you believe me I insist that over and over, which I know I have NOT!

This **** is getting old!

I offer an opinion, theory but I always keep an OPEN mind, I don't say I am Right, NEVER!

Actually, you did assume that he could have multiple abilities because he used both super strength and freezing in the same scene.

Maybe once (or twice at most) AS an opinion/thoery only, but did I insist I was right?

HELL NO!!!

I know you had A LOT of other people disagreeing with you, so I think you got them mixed up with me!

Actually, you did assume that he could have multiple abilities because he used both super strength and freezing in the same scene.

If I recall correctly, he wasn't the only one with that stance, and at that time, it was a mystery as to what exactly Peter was capable of. The episode after that cleared up the confusion/mystery

Actually, if I recall correctly maybe an spoiler posted by Rappy that Said that peter can have Multiple powers. Just have to relearn it again somehow This is all going to happen before this volume end... I believe.

You all read a spoiler like that? Or, was it a dream I had? :p

No need for spoiler tags. And if I'm seeing this right, this is the first post I've ever seen you post without annoyingly capitalizing Every Other Word.

    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistakeβ€”ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the β€œnuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
