Heroes Volume 4 : Fugitives

I think Tracy is getting revenge on all of the Building 26 agents. The man who walked into his leaky apartment was to be her fourth victim, and definitely not the last. Danko is probably on her list too, as he is THE one who "killed" her.

I don't think Matt's brainwashing is 100% either. Otherwise, "Nathan" wouldn't have picked up on the inaccuracy of the clock. And did you see Angela's face drop when he examined it? It was an "oh ****!" look for sure!

Had Matt removed Sylar's base ability, he would have lost the shape shifting ability too, and he would never be able to complete "being Nathan".

Damn, I was hoping after Sylar sliced his throat, it was the end of Nathan on Heroes. But noooo... they are still keeping that crappy actor.

He is dead, since I'm sure a few episodes into Season 4, Sylar will wake up and choas insues. :) I'm glad hes still in there, it totally wouldn't be right with everyone running around thinking Sylar was Nathan. :)

Damn I can just picture that writers room and all the drugs flying like hot cakes.

The episode was great, except for the contrived twist. I dont think matt 'erased' sylars memories, he used his mind to convince sylar he's someone else. Sylar took all the memories, and all of a sudden nathan's conscience lives inside him? That's contrived as hell. Worse thing is, Nathan is still around.

Plot holes of the week:

- By the end of season 2, angela seeemed to be the one who ordered nathan to be killed. It turned out that scene is not 'canon' anymore. Now, when nathan is killed, she's all NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my son. Bitch wanted them to blow NYC back in the day, now she cares for her children?

- Nathan died end of season2/beginning of season3, and came back to life out of nowhere. Now he finally dies forrealz, and they forgert about claire's MagicBlood?

And comment for the writers: will the ever be a finale in which neither nathan or sylar die or are presumed to be dead? We know you're bringing them back. Stop the insanity!!!

I still loved the episode though. It kinda felt like season1 finale for some reason.

They can still bring Nathan back though, even though the producers said this death was "for good" etc. They have his body. If they keep it on ice they can easily use Claire's or even Sylar's blood to heal/resurrect him in the future.

And, what exactly is this "dark thing" Matt supposedly did in the finale? Put Nathan's memories into Sylar? Ooooo dark!

And Tracy is gonna be the big bad female in Redemption? Ugh. I mean, I like Ali Larter, but come on. I suppose Barbara is gonna be the one to stop her.

Hiro, is an interesting situation. I can't wait to see what they have planned for him now. I loved how he kept freezing time knowing it might kill him. But, did I miss something or can Hiro now freeze time and teleport etc without using Ando? He seems to be doing it by himself like he got his power back. Did I miss an episode where they explained that one?

Overall, a very satisfying finale actually. I like the way they finished up Villians. I would have liked them to have avoided the "kill a character finale" and the "they aren't really dead" finale. But, we'll see how long "Nathan" is around before Sylar wakes up totally.

*Edit* Oh and Angela screaming no was so chilling.

My 2 cents, its ok ice chick is back. How she did what she did is beyond me. Nathen should have been dead primo. I don't see how they come up with these ideas sometimes. Turn SLYER into NATHEN oooo ahhhh... I didn't really like that. I would have prefered Syler and Nathen to die, and the world to move on to somthing new, good fresh start. And that fight scene with all 3 of them. Seriously did they have budget cuts or somthing, lets do this behind closed doors and watch and eyeball the entire time!

Oh well. Im liking that Peter has his powers (or like) back, I wish Hiro would get his powers back. They keep dicking him around, Hiro is my fav :(. Good way to "kinda kill" sylar with peter as the president, I really didn't expect that it all happend soo quick.

And btw, that Angela Darth Vader crap, was terrible to watch, the woman can moan her son by not screaming out... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! *sigh*.

Peter doesn't have his powers back, he took one. At least that's what I could understand from the storyline.

He did say he took them all, then when in the car he said to sylar "you didn't think I would take this one"...but yeah he took them all because I think it was Noah who asked him if he had them.

Peter only took one power. In the car he said ," You didn't think i'd take this one did you?" Meaning, out of all the powers, he could have taken sylars ability for empathy, but instead, it seemed like he meant, I took just this, and its all i needed. Dunno though we will have to see next season :)

This was a great episode, and I didn't mind the ending. They had to bring nathan back, to restore the order in the world, stop the hunting, and also try and bring a good name to his rep again. I was very pleased by this episode.

Pretty sure peter took them all. Seeing as he must have healed from the sylar fight as he had blood all over his head from what I assume were his wounds. The real problem is that they didn't show the fight scene... again... I know the show isn't suppose to be about the powers but you build up a big fight like that and don't even show it? What the hell!

Bottom line,Peter will probably never get his original ability back, Sylar is in a lot of trouble, now he has another personality besides his mom to worry about,Tracy is out for vengeance. Now the question is,can Mat trully erase Sylar's abilities? On the bright side,Peter is a lot smarter now,a lot more smarter than Sylar which makes him quite cool :D

Yeah that was the biggest downside to the episode but then again the budget probably to show the whole fight would of have to been massive.

We will have to wait to see what Peter has now.

I thought them NOT showing the fight scene was way better and much more dramatic actually. Seeing Claire's eye through the door while Sylar is zapping everything under the Sun looked amazing, and really put a point on it for me.

Plus, since you didn't see what happened, you don't know what you'll find when she opens the door. At first, how do we know that that was really Peter. What happened to Sylar and Nathan then etc etc.

And as Rappy mentioned, I'm pretty sure showing the fight scene would have cost way to much for Heroes now. They can't afford stuff like that anymore like in S1.

sums up my thoughts exactly

LOLs, I tend to agree, it's been a mess for the last 2 seasons, that might kill it for me. Then tipping your hand that Sylar is already trying to pop back out next season, yawn. Can we get back to season 1 when you didn't waste Hiro, assumed your audience was smart enough to handle the plot twist and took risk like putting main characters in what appeared to be real risk (we really should be short on Patrelli right now, shouldn't we???). Thank jeebus for Fringe and hopefully Chuck gets renewed.

Yeah the eye moment was awesome :D

It looks like brian fuller is trying to fix the mess first. He said it was a mess when he came back on board. Making sylar turn into nathan gives it a more human role again. less using all his powers and more trying to figure out who he is.

Anyway like i said it seems like brian is trying to make it back to the show he started with . He slowly has to get rid of some of the stuff that made it bad even if it creates plot holes. You wont fix this show without creating them.

+1

i dont think matt 'erased' anything. he just convinced sylar somehow. i rather spin it like that. otherwise, if matt 'erased' something, sylar can heal. it's all a big plot mess

He just wiped out Sylar from his mind there is no trace there its all Nathans life now but you could say matts damage could be healing itself.

    • Are you going to do performance benchmarks comparing all states? I'd be interested in seeing that in the next "part".
    • My father still uses a programme written in dbase3. Still manages to work with a little help from dosbox.
    • Microsoft hides these secret Windows 11 performance boost settings available on every PC by Sayan Sen Windows enthusiasts often look for ways to extract as much performance out of their systems as possible, and it's often the case that they try and do so while trying to minimize the heat and power consumption. This is especially relevant in the case of mobile Windows PCs since laptops and notebooks tend to get hot and management of that heat and power is harder in such a form factor. As such users often turn to techniques like under-volting which can be used to squeeze out the maximum capabilities of a chip while also maintaining lowered power levels. There are official apps from AMD and Intel with the likes of Ryzen Master and XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility). While these are quite handy, most enthusiasts probably prefer to dig into the BIOS and play around with settings there like Curve Optimizer on Ryzen, which lets users set various frequency-voltage scaling values. These are essentially called P-States. If you are not familiar with them, Processor Power Management is done through Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) P-states and C-states. While P-states or performance pwoer states handle CPU voltage-frequency scaling, C-states deal with CPU sleep states so that some of the CPU functions, which are not necessary at that moment, can be disabled. The P-states and C-states work together to make the processor run more efficiently. It helps the OS and apps determine which cores can be parked and which should be boosted. Of course not every user is an enthusiast or knows the technicalities and integrities of how things like overclocking or undervolting work. Thankfully for them Windows itself offers something pretty cool, though it is hidden by default on all systems. By default, Windows only has two P-States, "Minimum Processor State" and "Maximum Processor State." However, this can be changed with a Registry trick to expand the options under a secret "Processor performance boost mode" dropdown. This essentially enables the HWP or hardware P-States available on a device, and these are not controlled just by the OS itself as the underlying hardware gets involved too. In total there are five Processor Performance Boost Mode profiles that control how Windows requests and allows CPU turbo/boost behavior under the different power policies. They are: Disabled: In this mode, processor boosting is effectively turned off. The CPU will avoid entering turbo or boost frequencies and instead operate closer to its base frequency ceiling. This can significantly reduce power consumption and heat output, but at the cost of reduced burst performance and responsiveness in short workloads. Enabled: This is the standard behavior where boost functionality is allowed under normal conditions. The processor can opportunistically increase frequency when workload demands it, balancing performance gains with power and thermal constraints as managed by the system. Aggressive: Aggressive mode favors performance more heavily, allowing the CPU to enter higher boost states more readily and sustain them longer. This should in theory improve responsiveness under bursty or heavy workloads but increases power draw and thermal output compared to the default enabled behavior. Efficient Enabled: This mode still allows boosting, but with a stronger bias toward energy efficiency. The system attempts to use boost more selectively, avoiding unnecessary frequency spikes when the performance gain is marginal. Efficient Aggressive: This is a hybrid approach where boost is still performance-responsive, but the system continuously weighs efficiency more heavily than in Aggressive mode. It aims to deliver noticeable performance improvements while reducing wasted power in less demanding scenarios. Here's how to enable the Processor performance boost mode: Open Registry Editor: Press Win+R, type regedit, and click OK. Go to: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7 (where HKLM stands for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_) Modify the value of Attributes from 1 to 2 (you can find modify option by right-clicking) After that, exit Registry, you should now be able to see the new "Processor performance boost mode" dropdown menu: As you can see there are now five new P-States or CPPC states or power profile available that help define the boost mode processor setting on your PC. Wrapping it up here's a quick run-down of the settings as defined by Microsoft itself. Setting Description Disabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is disabled. Collaborative Processor Performance Control (CPPC) behaviour is disabled. Enabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is enabled. CPPC behaviour is Efficient Enabled. Aggressive The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is enabled. CPPC behaviour is Aggressive. Efficient Enabled The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is Efficient. CPPC behaviour is Efficient Enabled. Efficient Aggressive The corresponding P-state-based behaviour is Efficient. CPPC behaviour is Aggressive. Aggressive At Guaranteed Windows calculates the desired extra performance above the guaranteed performance level, and asks the processor to deliver that specific performance level. Efficient Aggressive At Guaranteed Windows always asks the processor to deliver the highest possible performance above the guaranteed performance level. In the next part we shall be comparing these settings to explore how much of a benefit or regression they can provide in terms of performance and power efficiency. If you decide to change the values on your system and are experiencing problems like crashes or an overheating PC, make sure to revert the steps back to the original state.
