Pink Floyd Veteran Posted January 5, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 5, 2009 did you try netstat on a terminal window? I am not sure if you can see who is connected to your public folders exactly but there are plenty infos there
mrt2
That's so crazy to me, there HAS to be a way to do this... I know this is Leopard and Leopard server but still... does anyone know if Leopard server has this ability? It wouldn't even make sense for it not to have the ability to view connected users on a server OS so I hope it does... I would switch to Leopard server if it had this ability. In Server Admin, click the 'Connections' tab on the specific service and you'll see all the details of the connected users. OS X Server is a ton easier to manage shares as well, so I'm sure you'll appreciate that as well.
mrt2
What would be the advantages/disadvantages of running OS-X Leopard server? Historically with Windows OS's the server versions have great support for well... server stuff but crappy support for gaming/multimedia/video/music type of things... Does OS-X server fall prey to the same downfalls?
giga Veteran Posted January 17, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 17, 2009 As far as I know, 10.5 server is just 10.5 client with added management tools and services. Should be fine.
