It might be so that is why I wish somebody would share a link on here I really don't want to wait until friday!

Well all the download links so far, are for those with msdn, connect, or technet membership, so even if you were given a link, the download would be disabled. You could try to re-download the leaked version, and give it another go?

Does the windows 7 install format the C drive?

I read some conflicting things on this.

I tried skimming this 54 page post, but I am tired :p

oh god my signature is old!

Of course not.

Boot into the Win Install DVD and you have complete control of where Win7 gets installed, etc. Plus, it doesn't auto-format anything. You have to manually tell it to format partitions and what-not.

Thanks.

I thought that would be case, I just wanted to make sure.

Running the x64 7000 build now. Speed is about the same as the 32bit 7000 build. All XFI and Nvidia Drivers from Guru3d work just fine. Counterstrike Source working well! =)

You cannot install Creative XFI drivers downloaded from Creative, you said it works fine? Don't you mean you are downloading the driver via Windows update?

Use compatibility mode, and run it as Vista. Works excellent for the X-Fi drivers. :)

no matter what compatibility mode you do it will not install, says it does not find the hardware and the driver does not install, you can only install from the cd which you get with your X-fi, the web updates do not work. And if you install drivers from CD then 2 channel will only work even though you have other options and Digital out dont work.

My xfi fatal1ty web driver installs worked fine in compatibility mode too. I have DD and DTS working fine via SPDIF. Initially i recieved an error about OS compatibility but once i put the install program to run in Vista compatibility it worked like a charm. If you are getting an error that indicates it cannot find the hardware... you may want to check Device Manager to make sure the card is showing up. Otherwise im not sure what's going on with yours. But what you stated is completed untrue.

Trying to do a clean install of the X64 version. When i get to select partitions etc i get the error "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing partition".

I have tried removing all partitions on drive and then creating a new one and formatting also i have tried another drive.

I have the ASUS P5Q Deluxe MB.

Anyone?

i had to donwload that mp3 update MANUALLY, because windows update has an error -8007002

i followed the instructions windows gave to about deleting some files in the WINDOWS\softwaredistrabution folder but it won't let me delete them cause the files are in use, but i did shut WU down?

Any ideas anyone?

    • It's time to say goodbye to Edge and switch back to Firefox. There's no way to disable the ugly rounded corners that appear everywhere. Not even on the page frame. No one uses screens with rounded corners, you idiots.
    • Being on Github makes it more trustable since I can see the code at any point.
    • Gen Atlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, this time with giant robots by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The mind behind widely well-received games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, showed up at Summer Game Fest today, and that was to reveal his latest project. Being developed by genDESIGN, Gen Atlas is incoming with what looks to be plenty of mech and robot action. Watch the reveal trailer, which makes not much sense, above. The game will have players waking up on an abandoned planet where deserted facilities and grand designs from the original creators remain. Soon, they will stumble upon a colossal robot, from which players gain access to the power to change the world. "Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more," adds the studio. The gameplay snippets seen in the trailer show the player character climbing giant robots (as expected from the creator), while also controlling these titans somehow as well. This is a fully single-player open-world adventure. “The team and I are grateful to all the fans who’ve been eager to learn more about our game,” says Fumito Ueda, CEO and creative director of genDESIGN. “Their passion and enthusiasm has always motivated and inspired us. We hope to share an experience that inspires moments of quiet wonder and discovery.” Before gaining the name Gen Atlas, Ueda first announced this project back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. Interestingly, this will be a project being funded and published by Epic Games, which should mean that a Steam release is out of the question. Gen Atlas will be releasing on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
