How is it compared to Acronis?

The one you linked to is a free utility from O&O Software that does disk imaging for data drives. It has limited options compared to the paid version.

For system drives, there is a paid version called O&O DiskImage professional that does hot-imaging and bare-metal restore just like Acronis and Ghost.

I have tried them and they are just great. Very easy to set up and use. Very lite and intelligent.

Have you ever tried FullSync? It's multi-platform and does a great job.

For home I just tried: Backup & Recovery 10 Free Edition (http://www.paragon-software.com/free/) it seems to be the most poweful free solution available on the market..

For business: veritas

Does Syncback work with Windows 7? I have everything set and it says it's running but I don't think it is.

Handy Backup (http://www.handy-backup.com/index.html) is the best backup program for files and Acronis True Image for imaging a hard drive. There is a free version of Handy Backup as well as one you pay for if you like the program.

Accronis isnt cheap, but you get what you pay for :-)
