Boy, 9, subdues pit bull with choke hold

Recommended Posts

I was told when younger (during dog training sessions), that if a pitbull attacks, it has the ability to lock its jaws in place and its near impossible to unlock them without removing its teeth.

They explained to the class that in order to stop a pitbull being able to even bite properly, they have a muscle or something inside the anal area which, when pressurised, stops the dog from being able to bite down to its full force, so they may not be able to inflict injury. It also makes them submit in a lot of cases.

Pitbullare starting to replace the knife culture in London now as a legal alternative. Im not sure there is a law to have them on a lead or mussled, but there should be. A few times they have run around up to people and started to sniff about and get "upset". The owners (usually a 15 year old chav, grabs the dog and pulls it back, although struggling. Then they mouth off at the person the dog got upset with, telling them not to upset their dog :s

Interesting. Although pretty much useless since getting a finger in a pit bull's anal area is as hard as giving a sponge bath to a crocodile :/ I generally try to keep them at a distance, if they bite in I do what I have to do to get out of that predicament with the less injury possible (sometimes involves using an old native american trick: rubbing one or more of its owner's teeth on its forehead if you catch my drift :shiftyninja:) They are surprisingly compliant after that.

Good thing he had the chance to get the dog FROM BEHIND as I assume that a choke hold won't help you if he's seeing you head on.

He probably did. He must have used a guillotine choke

It is applied from the front and if done correctly, could keep the dog out of reach of your vital areas because its head is under your arm and it can only see what's behind you. If he tightened at the neck, it couldn't swing around to bite him in the back either so it was trapped. Doesn't work as well as on a human but could do the trick until Animal control arrived.

I believe the circomstances the teacher was reffering to where more for if one locks on to you. Once locked on, it will not continue to attack, it will jjust litterally be locked in possition. However, if you are being attacked by a pitbull and get the opportunity to do this, it should help.

After checking online, it appears im wrong about the jaw locking, it does have very powerfull jaws, but they do not lock. However the anus trick still works.

Willing to do a little experiment? :shifty:

Pit bulls are a bit like sharks if you get my point. I don't want to encourage animal cruelty here but if your life is in danger (a pit bull can kill an adult man with ease if you don't react properly) you must act. Gouging out an eye will most of the times make it loosen its grip on you. If it was trained to be an attack dog, you're up that special creek without a paddle. Go for its owner. The native american trick works quite well :shiftyninja:

Actually, right after that ruling that women could walk topless, up and down the street I lived on there happened to be young girls doing just that...most of them in their early teens -- you know how teenagers are -- and we couldn't call the cops because it was now a woman's right to walk around bare breasted!

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with this. :D

Silly pitbull. They're useless dogs in society. There's bigger and stronger dogs that are more tamed and social than pitbulls and also great with children if trained properly. Even with harsh training, it's not guaranteed that they will be social around people and especially other dogs. It's a gamble.

Could have just stuck his fingers up its bum instead... It stops pitbulls from being able to lock their jaws.

That's a myth, they don't lock their jaws.

Well, seeing as how I am an adult....

Also, it was just older & younger teen girls doing it, it also happened to be preteen girls; anyways it didn't last long and I think everyone's forgotten about the law saying women can walk around topless just like men.

    • The original word arts were far more awesome! With their own preconfigured fill patterns, 3D layout, etc, with options to fine-tune their size and colors as desired. I especially loved the ones circled below and still miss them from my primary school years: I frankly use them less these days 'cause the new one isn't as straightforward fine art as what we originally had, taking time and effort to get back to the same graphics quality as the original offered, which I simply don't have enough of for merely fine-tuning my presentation titles. Same with the built-in picarts selection. Bring back the original pre-configured options for word art then I'll be using them far more frequently in my presentations even today.
    • What didn't you understand about that was mainly referring to Google, Microsoft, etc. keeping your passwords. Password Management is a key service of Bitwarden and it's not going anywhere. In any case they do offer export to other Password management services, backup/download of passwords, and the already mentioned on-prem option. I don't agree with the OP to use the free option as it's better to be an actual customer IMO. They don't just don't delete accounts like the big tech companies with no recourse which was the main concern of this article. I was confused if the author was trying to sell this setup? It should be obvious to anyone reading this article this solution is overly complicated and overkill for most users.
