i used 0 but went back to 50.

If you use 0, the sub menus pop instantly, (im talking about the notepad, word, paint menus showing the last files you used, above All programs) limiting you to view any sub menu if you over above them trying to reach the top option, with 50 you can skip those.

Yes, anything below 50 is quite irritating..

It affects the jumplists in the start menu..

This just shows you how many settings are hidden off in the registry still. I know it might not be the best of ideas, but why don't they just show these options in the UI from the get go instead of having you run around in the registry which would be a worse idea.

because it's not a setting that's supposed to be exposed to the user. MS is tryign to make a system where the user is't exposed to a ton of settings he don't understand and where the experience is the same wherever he goes.

for those of us that know how to do this stuff, the settings are there
