Bioshock Patch not working in Windows 7

When i try to install patch for bioshock.

Its saying that i need like 7??.???.??? of bytes free space. Witch is like 700GB of free space. And i have 25GB free left on partition.

Anyone managed to install it.

Its Bioshock Version 1.1 Patch Worldwide Retail.

Worked well on XP.

Have you tried running the patch in compatibility mode for Vista or even XP? I dont have the game, but changing compatibility settings is worth a try when something wont work.

Yes. Im not newbie.

Tried all compatibility and "Run in Admin Mode"

But nothing helped.

Copy the patch EXE to your \BioShock folder and run it from there.

BioShock Download Recommended System Requirements

?Windows XP (SP 2) or Windows Vista

?3.0 GHz dual core processor

?2.0 GB RAM

?Pixel Shader 3.0 compliant video card with 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT or better)

?100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

?7.0 GB free hard disk space

?DirectX 9.0c or DirectX 10

That would 7.0 gig. Might need to turn off superfetch,system restore,drive indexing for more space.

defrag try install again.

Already tried copying but thats not important becouse patch searches for right directory.

it wouldnt be 7 gig but 700MB what i wrote earlier anyway its both wrong. Becouse i forgot to add 3 more numbers. So that would be 700.000.000.000. Instead of zeroes there some numbers. But anyway its not importatnt. I have 25 GB. So logicaly it would work if needs 7Gigs or 700MB but it requires 700GIGS. Strange but true.

I dont need more space. problem is not in free space, as i said i have 25G free. And for update you need only 50MB free space. On XP i did it with 2 GIGS free. So that is not a problem.

Why don't you just extract the patch manually?

Or patch the game on another computer or XP, and copy the game files over.

Smart guy. Even in beta there are many ways to resolve many problems. People like you are worst people.

You are one of the guys witch on every problem with Win7 thinks "its beta" and dont try to find out solution or help. This forum is here so we can find problems in beta and help each other to solve it. So you are least smart person on this topic.

You cant extract it. Tried that already. Its not one of the exe files that you can extract same as you do with rar files.

Second solution is good solution. But my other computer is drasticly limited by HDD space. Thanks my friend anyway.

So i guess no one managed to install patch on Bioshock on Win7.

I saw this problem on another site. Seem that BioShock has a hard time with drive space with vista and 7.

One of them edit the ini file to 000 for required drive space.

I got Bioshock working fine in Windows 7.

1: Patch the original to 1.1 using worldwide version patch - don't use the patch which gives errors.

2: Deselect directx10 option in the graphics option

3: Select XP SP2 compatiblity for the Bioshock.exe file

Plays perfectly fine with sound.

My system is

5600 AMD

8600gt Graphics

2gb ram

120gb HD

Just an addition to this thread (sorry if I am bumping) that the Steam version of Bioshock worked (for me at least) flawlessly in Windows 7, without compatibility mode (Already version 1.1)
