Denki
changing folder name to c10k fixed it danke danke! it's actually safer to just close explorer.exe and then rename the old MSGINA.DLL to MSGINA.DLL.BAK and then replace it...that way if u fuk up you can always go back to the original...then restart explorer.exe of course...that's the best way personally.... Guest whybkuul
omg, if you don't want to take the help that's offered to you, then don't ask for it. That program is like 5kb and it's the easiest way to replace system files. If you'd actually read what came with the theme, you'd have already learned a different "safe" way to replace your system files. As to your question, yes, that will work. Guest whybkuul
Lol hurt? Hardly. :p I just get increadibly tired of people asking the same questions that have been asked (and answered) multiple times before. I believe your question has even been addressed in THIS thread! Anyway, enough of this petty bickering. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/73484-vs-classix-10k/page/5/#findComment-784376 Share on other sites
gigatexel
gigatexel:A bunch of people PMed me asking for my mod of C10K (screenshot), would you mind if I post it here? Please don't post or distribute the color scheme you made, Bant and I will eventually get around to doing more color schemes. I finished ergonomic which coincidentally is almost the same color as the one in your screenshot. Once I finish two more colors then I'll post an update, harass Bant so he'll make more color schemes for his mod. :p No biggie guys, there are a bunch of different ways to replace system files. Here's how I do it: Delete msgina.dll from both your 'dllcache' and 'ServicePackFiles' folders. Easiest way to get to those folders is to open up a Run box and type their names in. Once that's done go to your 'System32' folder (again use a Run box), find msgina.dll and rename it to msgina.bak at this point Windows File Protection will pop up. Click Cancel then Ok and copy one of the msgina files from my archive to 'System32' and rename it to 'msgina.dll'. I usually log off then back on to see the changes since it's faster than rebooting but sometimes you may have to reboot. If I didn't confuse the hell out of you with my half-assed explanation let me know how it goes.
