Windows 7 Bugs

First off its nothing that major and iv been living with it for weeks :p

Anyway a while back i booted up windows 7 (7000) and all my desktop icons were gone, now i have to use explorer and view my desktop from a folder. :(

Second, (this one only happened a few minutes ago) i dragged and dropped my libraries folder the start menu and now its stuck there, when i right click on it the only option is open.

Basically its in the pinned area of the start menu and i can't drag it out, delete it or unpin it, its very strange really :unsure:

Has anyone else had either problems?

Help me please i am so sick of searching :laugh:

Here is how to fix the start menu problem.

Manually Through the Registry

1. Open the Start Menu.

2. In the Start menu search box at the bottom, type regedit and press Enter. (See screenshot below)

3. In regedit, go to: (See screenshot below)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage

4. In the right pane, right click on Favorites and click on Delete. (See screenshot above)

NOTE: The long binary number for the Favorites Data value is the list of pinned items. Since it cannot be easily edited, deleting it will be easier to reset it.

5. Click on Yes to confirm the deletion.

6. Close regedit and restart the computer.

Have you tried right clicking on an empty spot on your desktop and choose view/show desk top Icons? As far as the Libraries folder have you tried right clicking on the orb and chose remove Libraries Folder.

i have a problem with copy-pasting. dunno whether it a known issue.

my problem is, i cant copy/cut - paste any file on folder in Libraries (documents/music...)

i have to open up that particular folder to paste the content.

in this pic you can see the "paste" option is missing.

i've also added "Problem Steps Recorder" file.

Edit: Wait, I see what you mean. I can fix it by right clicking somewhere open and setting 'Group by' to 'None'.
