[Official] Killzone 2

Ah, yeah - you joined a bit later on... I actually was talking quite a lot, but it could very well be that I figured no one'd talk back and that I just was quiet after that...

I normally talk a lot :p I'm used to it - play all my FPS games on PC with friends exclusively and we always talk during the game...

edit; thanks for the clan invite thingy :) I appreciate it

you do know only people in your squad can hear you, right? unless you're in proximity of course..

Yeah man and if you play Medic, revive us more! How does it work? Can you use the zapper as much as you like or does it have a timer between each revive?

I've unlocked the Medic class but I just enjoy headshots too much :p Think I only need 3 more ribbons until I have all 8 for headshots :D (171 in one day of owning the game, lawl)

Just went 43 and 15 (K/D) with DL et al :woot:

I love the map Corinth Crossing. Got the Munky route all worked out! :p

I'm stealing it...

Just reading your posts like this makes me realize how much I'm sucking at this game at the moment...

Need to play more when work isnt getting in the way.

Medic zapper needs recharging...

Also; as a medic you just have the standard ISA rifle as option :)

edit; can someone still invite me to the clan :p PSN: xKeito ^^;

I sent you a friend request earlier, once you accept that I can add you to the clan. I couldn't send it from the website earlier because it was lagged out.

So yeah I'm not ignoring your request, you just need to sign in and accept my FR first (Y) :p

@AJ, yeah I sucked too at first and still do. My biggest battle is with the controller and button layouts. I'm perfecting it slowly though  You on again later? I'll show you my route! :ninja:

I hear ya on the controller. Trying to get my hands used to the "smallish" feel of it. Also got so used to another FPS and its button layout. I'm having problems as well with it.

Yeah I'll be on in 10-15 minutes for about an hour. Then its off to AC I go for the night.

Ah, sorry, must've missed it ^^; my bad

edit; just accepted your FR :)

lawl I went to watch Lost earlier and fell asleep, absolutely knackered after this week of Uni :p

I'll be on in a bit, going to finish off lost.

By the way Munky that patch is to disable bots in the MP - People were stat padding as all you needed was 2 human players minimum and then you could add bots on easy and take advantage. Official word:

yup. Patch is being deployed to disable bots in Online MP for now. We'll find a clever way of making this work better in the mean time as we would like to keep bots in online. As for the points achieved already. We'll have to have a look, but we're not wiping the stats completely. I think people would have a heart attack if we did that :) We're looking into some of the other complaints too.

Official line:

We have temporarily disabled the ability to add bots to online games.

Bots are still available in skirmish (offline) mode.

This is a temporary measure to avoid rank-up abuse, a permanent solution is

forthcoming.

They should have seen that coming a mile off allowing bots to give EXP, at least it's been plugged quickly. Would still like to see bots come back, maybe just without giving exp as it could be useful for clan practice or something if we've only got 4-6 people on and want to fill the server with bots.

Also, look out for Guerilla members :shiftyninja:

Killzone 2 out today! Guerrilla Games thanks you.

Hey Everyone,

Here at Guerrilla headquarters we have been eagerly anticipating the launch of the Killzone 2. Today is that day. It is a fantastic occasion where we finally put the game in the hands of the people who have been so very supportive and vocal about the game all this time. Thank you for your support! We really hope you will enjoy your time with the game and are looking forward to joining you in online matches. If you see anyone with a ?GG? in front of their names, go easy. It?s us.s.

So that's where all the snipers came from! I was thinking there was quite a vast increase this afternoon. Should have known when they all sucked

Man, I just played for 30 minutes and I started to get dizzy.... wtf? :(

It's the 4D man.

Yeah I seen a sniper earlier today, like early afternoon and I was like no way in hell.

I hope GG can not only fix the issue, but find out those who done it and pull back their stats. With the amount of stat tracking the game does, I don't think it should be too hard to see who's been playing against bots as it records your games within the last 2 weeks for the battle replays - These people will have all their battle replays against bots.

    • Turbo Pascal was my first real programming experience more than 30 years ago at university. I mostly taught myself from the included examples and help documentation, because the university only taught the basic syntax and philosophy of Pascal, without going deeply into Turbo Pascal’s advanced features. I still remember when I discovered that I could embed assembly language directly into Pascal code, call BIOS functions, manipulate screen memory, use mouse interrupts, and control peripherals from my programs. That opened huge doors for me. Programming back then felt really fun, direct, and close to the machine. What I loved about Pascal was its readability and the almost instant compile time. Turbo Pascal was an amazing environment, but unfortunately Turbo Pascal for Windows 3 did not feel like it fully carried that legacy forward. Later, Delphi got things back on the right track after the messy transition to TP for Windows. Sadly, Delphi suffered from years of uncertainty as it moved from Borland to CodeGear and then to Embarcadero. That instability made many developers lose confidence in it, even though Delphi itself remained a powerful and productive tool. I still work with Delphi from time to time, but I definitely miss the old days of Turbo Pascal.
    • I hope this encodes in to AV1 or AV2 as currently tiktok uses h265 and h264.
    • Qualcomm reportedly in talks to build custom video chips for TikTok parent ByteDance by Karthik Mudaliar Qualcomm is reportedly in advanced discussions to provide custom chip-design services to Chinese tech giant ByteDance, the same company behind TikTok. According to a report from Reuters, Qualcomm could be involved in designing custom silicon tailored for ByteDance's massive data-center workloads. If it goes through, the deal would make ByteDance one of Qualcomm's early anchor customers for its fastly growing custom chip-design division, For years, Qualcomm was the king of making smartphone processors and modems. The company has also been moving into the PC ecosystem and other formats such as on-device AI for Android XR headsets. However, this particular deal is about Qualcomm's custom Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). For a platform like TikTok, ByteDance needs hardware that can help it ingest, process, and serve billions of short-form videos daily. Generalised hardware is no longer the most cost-effective and efficient route, which is why ByteDance is trying to develop custom Video Processing Units (VPUs). VPUs designed specifically for ByteDance’s algorithmic needs could drastically reduce data-center power consumption and improve encoding speeds at an unprecedented scale. The underlying tech behind these processors is actually from Qualcomm's recent acquisition of AlphaWave Semi, a high-speed connectivity specialist company. By combining AlphaWave’s high-bandwidth IP with Qualcomm’s architectural expertise, the company could begin mass production by the end of 2026, if the talks go through. All this also comes at a time when U.S.-China tech relations have dwindled. Escalating trade frictions between Washington and Beijing have severely impacted the export of high-end AI chips from U.S. firms like Nvidia, AMD, and Lam Research. Yet, the Qualcomm-ByteDance discussions show that U.S. tech companies are still actively seeking growth avenues and are open to doing business with China, where regulators still permit. Reuters notes that the outcome of this deal could be uncertain, and ByteDance might also seek partners other than Qualcomm. via Reuters | Image via DepositPhotos.com
