Idea: Make the gallery feature open to members

I read the article on Snow Leopard and had a thought about Neowin's gallery feature - regular users should be able to make use of it. People could use it when posting user reviews, or when they're creating new threads for video games and need somewhere to post the screenshots, or you could have collaborative galleries for things like software betas etc, where everyone can contribute their own screenshots for everyone else to see. The galleries are very nice, it's a shame they aren't used more often, and I think this could help.

I like this idea, as well. I would love to have access to the gallery. If on a view-only permission. Make it so you can view them as a standard member and only have your own gallery if you subscribe.

What's so different from the IPB gallery as opposed to getting a Photo Bucket or Image Shack account? Is it the features?

I don't know about features, but the Neowin gallery looks a million times better and having a gallery of images integrated into the site looks much more professional than some gallery on a plain external page.
