There’s been a scattering of European 360 price deal reports today, but nothing particularly solid. UK retailer HMV, however, appears to be selling the Elite for less than ?200 at ?195.73.

That’s cheap. The machine comes with the HDMI cables and a 120Gb drive. The 60Gb pro costs ?166.37 at the same store.

The Elite’s still selling for ?219.99 on Play.

Awesome price, if this becomes permanent (it's just retailer offers right now, yeah?), it should really put the pressure on Sony.

Unless the old units aren't moving and MS really want's to get production going I'd assume it's permanent. I doubt that many people know about Jaspers enough for it to be an issue at a consumer level.

I'd say it's probably pernament to put pressure on Sony given it was rumoured as far back as XMas that the PS3 was due for a drop around April. Given it went through XMas without one it seems pretty darn likely it'll happen soon.

Best to drop first and not look like your reacting to a PS3 price cut and the fact a price cut PS3 may make the Elite look bad feature wise. They must have loads of old Elite stock to push before Jasper Elites start showing up, I doubt Elite stock moves very fast so this should inject some pace. Lots of reasons.

Either way, wow! That's an extremely attractive price. If it stays at that price, Sony is going to have a really hard (well, harder) time on their hands. I also see GAME are now taking pre-orders for Resi Evil 5 with the Red 360 Elite for ?229, a pretty damn attractive price point.

Yeah. I was thinking about getting one just for the hell of it. But after seeing my bank account today, then later my girlfriends. I think it might be better if I don't splash out 'just for the hell of it' especially when I have a perfectly good PC. I was thinking of ordering a 'elite' wireless to replace my wired 'normal' xbox 360 controller for my PC, but I'd assume I would need the usb wireless adapter and stuff as well.

Besides my friends I'm living with next year have a 360 so XD

Maybe I should pick up a couple and ebay them in a week or tw:p:p

The RE5 console is guaranteed to be a Jasper model too.

I ordered on Friday using this deal, an absolute bargain! Mine was dispatched this weekend and has an Estimated Delivery Date of Monday 02/03/09. So thats really happy days!

I've bought this to replace my Launch Day Premium which is still going, but I don't know for how much longer! It's just so loud! Hoping the Elite is quieter!

Just need to find some black spray paint for my Wireless Adapter and HD DVD Drive so they dont look out of place in my all black set up now (TV, PS3, Sky+HD and now the Elite)!

I was glad I didn't spend too much last month, and the fact I got paid Friday allowed me to purchase this bargain!

Afaik this isn't a temporary deal but the new RRP. We'll start to see more bundles this week too imo.
