It's onboard (integrated) but not shared memory (GeForce Go 7400). It's a laptop.

I don't think I had this issue when I had 7000 (I think I had 4096mb in task manager). I did an upgrade though. Maybe could be the issue. I'll try a format if have 3.5GB bugs me and I can't wait longer to try the RC.

7022 x64 leaked yesterday I believe. It's on torrent sites. I found out via Mydigitallife.info forums.

I also can't put my SD card to ReadyBoost. The option isn't available. I didn't have problems upgrading from Vista SP1 to Win7 7000. I didn't think I'd run into problems from going 7000 to 7022.

Edit: I found out ReadyBoost was removed in 7022.

No, no they were not.

To partners and similar yes, but for others no.

Yes when the Beta tests went public the releases were build 7022. I have been running the 64Bit build since.

My bad. LoL is just checked and have the 7000 Build. How embarrasing. My apologies. (I do need to update though)

If somebody with 4GB of memory and build 7000 x64 can take a picture of their Task Manager Performance tab so we can see if build 7022 is bugged

Check your BIOS to see if it has reserved some memory or if you have an option similar to memory mapped hole.

If it is a laptop chances are it's sharing memory. What brand and model of laptop do you have?

Exactly the same usage as when you run a 32-bit OS? Pretty high coincidence.

It's a chipset issue with the M1210 laptops. Apparently the i945 chipset doesn't support 4GB on 64bit. For Core 2 Duo, the Santa Rosa chipset fixed this.

Chip: 64bit

OS: 64bit

Northbridge Memory Bus: 32bit

Stupid Intel.

Nothing to see here. Move along. :(

Well, at least it means I don't have to format.

Well that sucks. No BIOS update to fix it?

Unlikely. Dell doesn't officially support x64 on this laptop. Also, it seems to be a hardware restriction of the Intel i945 chipset. The north bridge used in the Intel 945 chipset is limited to 2^32 addressable points on the memory bus.

It's sharing the system memory with the video chip.

Go into the BIOS and look at the video memory configuration.

If i got the Intel video card that would be the case but the Nvidia one doesn't share. And my video card is definitely not taking 768MB of RAM.

It's definitely the i945 chipset. The problem is not specific to just my M1210. Even desktops that use the i945 chipset will only report 3.25GB in a 64bit OS. I read on a forum that somebody bought 8GB of ram and Vista x64 only reported 3.25GB (ouch!). The culprit turned out to be the i945 chipset.

if I recall correctly, build 7000 didn't show memory available, just total memory

If its due to your onboard video, its not a glitch, just notification that your onboard video consumes memory.

Yeah but task manager reports it.

Hmm, according to dxdiag the video card has 1065MB of ram. So I guess the video is taking it but WTF 1GB+ of video memory.

If this was a desktop then I'm sure that memory would have been lost, like the guy who put 8GB on VistaX64and it only reports 3.25GB. At least it's not going to waste though I don't know how I'd use 1065MB of VRAM

According to google results: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&cli...amp;btnG=Search

It's definitely the i945's fault. It's a 32mbit memory controller. i965 and i975 have 64-bit memory controllers.

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
