Windows 7 Build 7032/Build 7048 64bit leaked?

Nvidia has some new drivers out for Windows 7, both x86 and x64. Check their website.

I'm guessing that the MP3 corruption bug is fixed in 7048? I tried to install the update for that bug and it said that it didn't apply to my version of Windows.

Yes it's fixed....

You think they'd leave that bug there on purpose? The hotfix was to fix it in 7000, it was already fixed in winmain at that point.

[*]32bit drivers for my Canon iP4500 do not seem to be included just like in 7000 64bit. Will have to see if I can get it working in 7048 since it had problems in 7000. 7022 worked fine and included the driver so I could share the printer with my 32bit systems. Maybe I will just rip the driver from 7022. The download from Canon did not work on 7000 64bit.

Odd. I was actually shocked that my Pixma iP4500 does work under 7000 x64. Installed it when the beta first went public but finally had to use it monday night to print up some resumes for the girlfriend. First time I plugged in the printer and used it since installing the drivers in January, and it worked just like it always did under Win 7.

This was with my Dell Latitude D830 at home..

(Now if I could only get Kyocera's drivers to install on my Dell Precision at work I could actually print again haha!)

Now my question..

Does anyone know if they fixed the networking bug that wont pull policy from an Active Directory server???

Ive had to manually map my network shares at work ever since day 1 since it doesnt pull this from the domain controller..

Whenever we login to our domain there are 3 folders on the network fileserver that are mapped to 3 drives for us (storage/apps/personal space)...

Aside from this, because Im a domain admin, in my user account on the domain controller, I have a batch file that runs on top of that that maps a couple other locations on our network for me.

That batch file works just fine, but the 3 shared drives that come from our default network policy have never showed up when I login.

Guess Ill find out soon as I just finished burning the 7048 dvd a few mins ago..

Blimey, just spotted that this build can convert WTV Media Center recordings to DVR-MS. Just right click on a WTV file and it's right there in the menu.

Thank you Microsoft! You just made my life a whole lot easier!

Try running mcbuilder.exe from an elevated command prompt (make sure its elevated or it will silently fail)

Well... I've just finished installing 7048 on my Dell XPS M1330. Most of the hardware works upon the install, although I do need drivers for my trackpad and fingerprint scanner.

As others have noted, you don't need an ISO to use the build. Just format a USB drive and install the files onto it. Change your BIOS settings so that USB drives are the first boot devices recognized, and you're good to go.

Just noticed the compatibility list has been changed and now includes "vista sp2"

I think the compatibility list is getting rediculous.

In my opinion, the only OS that should be differentiated by Service Pack is Windows XP (because SP1 - SP2 was a drastic change.

So I'd have:

Windows 95

Windows 98/ME

Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)

Windows 2000

Windows XP (Service Pack 1)

Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Windows Server 2003

Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)

When Upgrading 7000 to 7048, has anyone noticed problems with any applications installed which don't work.

Currently downloading 7048 at 95.7% 73Kb/s average

I recently installed MacOSX 10.5.6 on my PC, so I am in the mood for install procedures lol :D :wacko:

My graphics driver stopped working for some reason, which caused ATI Tray Tools to fail....reinstalling it fixed everything though.

Apart from issues with NOD32 4 (version 3.0 working ok), this seems as bullet proof as 7000 ran on my rig.

Can't tell if it's a placebo effect or not, but it feels a little snappier. Plus the new start button orb and other graphical changes are welcome.

So far so good. One issue is while browsing through the Windows Explorer, the window sometimes freezes. In order to get it working again, explorer.exe needs to be restarted. Interestingly, this only happens when I have UAC off. If it is on even at the second lowest level, I do not get this problem.

Keep sending feedback guys. RC is very close and this is pretty much the last chance to get anything changed feature-wise.

So one issue I notice I have with Windows 7 (both build 7000 and 7048) is with Firefox, after a certain point, when I open a new tab, type a web address, and press enter, nothing happens. Firefox completely stops responding to the enter key in the address bar. I can type the address in the google search box and hit enter, and that works fine. I just am totally unable to press the enter key and have it register when typing in the address bar. Anyone know what might cause this?

Well took a bit to do an upgrade from 7000 but so far so good..

System still works as it did before and everythings still intact..

Although NO they didnt fix the bug with networking that grabs policy from an Active Directory server..

Good thing I have a batch file that maps all my network drives at work just in case..

(could be a server issue though, our server guy is TERRIBLY out of date and our Win2003 DC has been in 'testing' for like 4 years now, the main ones are still Win2k!!)

Nod32 version 4 works fine here, tho I only have the AV and not the smart security suite.

Currently downloading it, and I'm at 39%. I think I'll do an upgrade after so many people have, once again...*prepares for 5 hour upgrade time*

Though I wonder whether this will be the RC build MS will release, because after looking at a few sources on the internet, it seems that it won't be. And I think it would be quite stupid to, actually, for a build that will nearly a month old.

I am enjoying the heck out of testing build 7048. So far, so good.

The only issue I have seen (and I haven't check my submitted bugs yet) is that the video driver for my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop is not working. My laptop uses an Mobile Intel GM965 Express Chipset. It's the same problem I had with the x86 and x64 versions of build 7000 and 7022. I have to use the "Standard VGA driver". Otherwise I get a wacked out plasma-like display with off colors that is very hard to read. I have tried ever driver under the sun, from Intel, from Dell, for Vista (all versions), using Administrator, using compatibility mode, you name it. The driver that came with Win7 and the one that is on Windows Update do not work. I opened problem tickets with Dell and Intel but both responded that Windows 7 is not supported yet. Such is the life of a beta tester. If anyone has loaded 7048 x64 on a Inspiron 1525 and the video driver works, please let me know the driver version and firmware number. Thanks.

You cannot upgrade via 32bit to 64bit, you need to do a clean install.

I just booted from the 7048 DVD to try and upgrade from build 7000. After setup is started it throws up something along the lines of "the computer is using the installation disk for setup, please remove disk and start windows normally and choose upgrade option"???

Do I have to upgrade from within windows itself or am I missing summit?

Upgrades need to be initiated from within windows itself.
