I think I mentioned it before but what I don't like about windows 7, this build has the same issue, is that in Vista, if I wanted notepad or power options I could search in the start menu, it would be the first option in the list, hit enter and I'm done. I search for "note" and power. In Win7 note=sticky note and power=powershell. Its a seriously minor issue, but one that really irritates me.

Also, has anyone managed to get steam to work with it? I havent.

I think it remembers your preference - so if you search for note and then manually click "Notepad" from the list a couple of times, itll display that one first from then on so you can just hit enter.

Thats just a theory though, I am pretty sure it existed even in Vista, but not sure if Ive ever really needed it - for the same reason you have that its always just been at the top of the list!

Someone proove me right/wrong?

You're right, that's why I'm just going to have to test it out in a virtual machine or see if i can manage to get it to install on my computer. :)

If not having 32bit is a problem, how is using a virtual machine going to help? You have to be using 64bit Windows to virtualize a 64bit OS.

You must give a try to Virtual Box then, from version 2.1 you can get a 64bits guess OS in a 32bits one

I will be patient, i would rather not take the time downloading over half of the ISO and it doesn't end up working. I'm sure the 32bit will be released by latest, Sunday. :)

what seems 2 hav changed in 7048 is when i click on the pinned libraries icon it wont open a new window again, just bring back in front the one which is already open. i liked the old behavior much better.

I could of sworn they removed or said they were going to remove the classic Windows theme. Why is it back again? :s

I don't recall this ever being stated, nor was it ever removed from any Windows 7 build. The fact is, Windows Classic is there for fallback reasons. Machines that can't run Aero can always run Windows Classic. (Think of it like an emergency GUI.) Also, while some do prefer the look overall, it's also still the de facto GUI for all Windows Server releases.

Yes it was removed in Pre-Beta's and Beta build 7000 but people would have requested it to come back, i like the classic start menu :D

Steam works fine for me, but I had to download the installer from the site.

I upgraded from 7000 and steam worked straight from the upgrade (like it should have)....not sure why anyone would be having problems with steam not working...

I found a torrent but low seeds.

I got mine in 4 hours from Demonoid......the original, non-ISO one that is....

I goggled "7048 x86 download", one the very first page there is a good target.

That site gave 4~5 links, all posted on 3-5, but what's curious are the sizes, all under 1G(????)

Any ideas ????

Those are fakes!!! Don't click on them.

Yes I get the same.

Change preview delay

HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Control Panel--> Mouse --> MouseHoverTime

change 400 to 50 or less, restart.

    • No. Windows 8 had little to no spywhare, is actually faster than 7 but it has the dreaded start screen, nothing that you could not fix with start8. Windows ME crashed often, but was shotlived and replaced by XP, which is a much better windows in itself.
    • Windows 8 was uninspiring but it was fine / worked. It was just overshadowed by how great Windows 7 was. Windows ME seem to be just unstable for most people - I was using Windows 2000, which was far superior. The two best versions are Windows 7 and 2000
    • I don't think ME was that bad. The stability issues were mostly caused by drivers. This was when the switch from vxd to wdm was happening. The other complaint was not being able to shut down into DOS anymore which was silly with XP right around the corner.
    • As much as I hated Windows 8, although I never used it personally on any of my own machines, I think Windows Me was hands down the worst OS from MS. I have Windows 11 on 2 unsupported machines and haven't had any issues and I actually kind of like it. Still hate how slow Windows updates are though.
    • Why do you think they whol industry would be done? Agree a lot has shifted around the launch with devs moving their dates to avoid the timeframe around the launch. But if this fails, it'll be talked about, analysed, Rockstar will likely be ridiculed but people will move on. Others devs might be more cautious about these large games but I don't think one game will change the entire industry
