It's not as good as it was but last nights episode was a massive improvement over last weeks episode. I was laughing my head off at the black drug dealer bit.

The Inbetweeners writer Damon Beesley has confirmed that there are unlikely to be any more series of the secondary school comedy.

Beesley, who pens the E4 sitcom with Iain Morris, confirmed cast member speculation that the current third series would almost certainly be the programme's last.

He told The Sun: "In our minds, we've always thought that this series, this [school] year, is obviously the closing of the story. I don't anticipate there being another series of them at school.

"We've got a movie in the pipeline, where they are going away on their first holiday together without their parents - which is obviously an important part of the story. And then they are going to disappear and go off to different universities."

Beesley added that it would be difficult to follow the four main characters after they leave school, as not all of them would achieve the grades to get into university.

He said: "It's very unlikely Neil (Blake Harrison) is going to go!"

However, although the writers have not yet "made any firm decisions", Beesley did suggest that there would be a post-movie special to tie up the characters' stories.

He added: "We want to finish the stories off by picking up with the characters after their holiday."

The Inbetweeners airs on Monday nights at 10pm on E4.
