Rappy Veteran Posted February 28, 2011 Author Veteran Share Posted February 28, 2011 They are supposed to be living it up with girls, sun and sand on a raucous lads holiday to Mallorca. But as it only can in the world of The Inbetweeners, it all goes pear shaped for Simon, Will, Jay and Neil. Pictures of the cast filming on location show Simon, played by Joe Thomas, being rescued by emergency crew after from the sea. Slumped over a lifesaver, the 27-year-old actor is then put on a stretcher to be taken away for treatment, but not before he is given a passionate kiss by an attractive brunette. Ever the concerned friend, Will (Simon Bird) is pictured rushing to his friend's aide. A crowd of girls gather around Simon's lifeless frame as he is carried off by emergency crew in the dramatic scenes. Thomas recently revealed that he has has been taking diving lessons in preparation for the water scenes. He said: 'I want to make sure I can do it properly. I don't want to get injured. 'I've been practising on the five-metre board. I was going to go off the 7.5m platform but I have retired early because my shoulders were hurting. 'My coach taught Jason Statham when he was an international diver.' His specialist training doesn't seem to have done his character any good, though, as these pictures suggest. The Inbetweeners movie picks up where Series 3 ended - which saw the four friends prepare to go their separate ways after leaving school. But they reunite for a lads holiday in the Mediterranean without their parents, giving them plenty of opportunity for alcohol-debauched mayhem and the opportunity to finally sleep with some girls, instead of talking about it. Actresses Laura Haddock, Jessica Knappett, Lydia Rose Bewley and Tamla Kari are new additions to the cast as love interests for the quartet. Expected to return is Belinda Stewart-Wilson, who plays Will's attractive mother Polly McKenzie - the object of affection for all his friends, to his chagrin. Back in England, Martin Trenaman and Victoria Willing, who play Simon's father Alan Cooper and Jay's mother Mrs Cartwright respectively, were spotted on the Hertforshire set. The Inbetweeners movie is due for release in August 2011.
