SamiWiecieKto
"jelly" windows are looking a lil stiff lol 1. Hard to capture ;( 2. Hard to code :( (for some reason there aren't many programs like such - to be precise AFAIK 2 on Windows with Nimi counted, while Nimi is free and works on Vista & W7(reported)) 3. Will be better in 3.0 version -for which I need time to write all algorithms...I'm studying & working in the same time as well right? :D

Manuroc
Yeah, Compiz Fusion's code could certainly be useful...
SamiWiecieKto
Yeah, Compiz Fusion's code could certainly be useful... Nah that's not problem - coding is actually easy, but You need front end for that: both graphic server and proper api possibilites. In other words problem itself lies in how on screen painting is handled and how Windows api looks & works (for what we can say I'm expert and could write a book on that)
Manuroc
By the way, I'm unable to install on Win7 x64 build 7048. Is it not supported? I get the license agreement and then no windows appear. Process seems inactive in task manager.

I get the license agreement and then no windows appear. Process seems inactive in task manager. Check if You got settings file in AppData\Nimi\settings.dat with "alp|1" - also try running in compatibility mode if anything don't help. You see - as W7 is still beta there might occur random system bugs and .NET issues, depending on used build etc. Believe me I've gone through W7 error reports before releasing 0.7 version :D (in old version count, previous version)
Manuroc
Settings file has "alc|1" Changing it to alp made the license agreement appear again, but still doesn't move past that point. Using compability mode doesn't seem to work either...
Yorak
Looks really nice, but I hope it is just the video making it that jerky/laggish.

Feel free try by Yourself - You have nothing to lose, and still jelly windows isn't most representative effect - for example I like picture board and new contrastful windows :D

Manuroc
Oh great. I didn't realize that it was simply running in the tray. Damn Windows 7 automatically hiding tray icons! Still... now that I have the effects window up, none of the effects seems to activate once I check the boxes.

If so program restart might help. Btw, I still claim that I will use W7 if I get it for free for a lifetime ;P ?? -Hiroshi-
Does this work on XP? Cause the app isn't doing anything on this end.
SamiWiecieKto
Does this work on XP? Cause the app isn't doing anything on this end. Yes it works - check if You have .NET 3.5 installed, in tray there should be program icon - double click it for settings menu. Remember that effects apply after options menu close. :D

SamiWiecieKto
Didnt know Steven Hawking had a sister hmm I like Hawkings - He surely has brilliant mind. other then that it looked interesting, but a bit choppy with the jelly effect if thats what it was Believe me - it still great achievement for just one person developing and such short amount of time - overall look & feel. Elsewhere we would have dozens of such applications - but so far Nimi Visuals(formerly Nimi, before Tophaz) is only one free out there: and there is only one commercial software that we could possibly consider for being in same software group. And as I always say: it can only get better! :) P.s. Thank You for trying :D that totally crashed my dwm ;) Happens with some themes sometimes - I always ignored this xD (still DWM crashed, restared and everything worked fine xD... I just love developing for this platform xD) Next time I hope you can do the vocals in your videos yourself :D Microsoft Mary (or at least she's family of her) isn't very good at English :p (not at any language actually) rotfl ;P
