What is .net framework exactly?? and does an everyday PC user like me need it, or will notice a difference? .NET Framework, is a set of libraries and files, required to run application written in the .NET Languages. for example. VB .NET or C# .NET; if you have no software that requires that, then you don't need to install it. Its not "useless" most people just don't have the need for it. Its not a matter of "Better" they're both required for different applications.
