Waylander
Did you try assigning same WORKGROUP name, not HOMEGROUP. might depend on the nas he has but i dont think that will matter, im able to connect to mine (a synology nas) without being in the same workgroup as the nas, it works as both a mapped network drive and by finding the upnp listing of it on my network (with the second method though once the nas has hibernated i cant wake it again, mapping the drive works much better). Nemo Live
I too am having trouble with my wireless connection dropping in this build. It seems to drop when I use newsleecher. Browsing the net is fine. It happened in 7057 too but was fine inthe BETA 7000 build. Annoying bug... I guess I can add myself to that chorus. I didn't think it was OS fault for longest and chalked it up to my router but I guess it's not. I have no problem connecting to my wifi network its just sometimes there's no connectivity even though wifi icon indicates a connection. Usually resolves in a couple of minutes or if I manually reset the network adapter. I believe this happened in 7057 as well. Hurricane Andrew
In this build I can't pin the control panel in the taskbar. Similarly, in build 7000 I was able to pin both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of IE to the taskbar. In 7068 I can only pin one or the other, not both. janek2012
In WMP, when type a word to search and change Visual Style, your word will disappear, but Library will show only search matches :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/752814-build-7068-bugs/page/4/#findComment-590786164 Share on other sites
quicking
Using 7068 x64. Tried this on two systems. When WMP is playing a track and is minimized, the Pause button on the taskbar preview does not work. The other buttons work fine, but pause has no effect. Weird. same here. The WMP buttones on taskbar (thumbnail) won't work correctly. When u click the bottons, they take as a double-click action. For example, when u click "Next", it goes next's next. That's why the "Pause" seems never work. It happens both on my X64 and X32 build. and another bug on X64 build I dont know if anyone else using Intel GM950 has : when running dxdiag32, it shows errors getting extra display info, and d3d acceleration not available. dxdiag 64bit works fine, but I can never running any 32bit 3D games anymore. hanko panko
Did you try assigning same WORKGROUP name, not HOMEGROUP. Jason Brian Merrill
hmm, i've been encountering bugs i hadn't had in 7048 -- first BSOD ever whilst setting a rule in outlook.... problems with my audio interface (presonus firepod) not being recognized until reboot... never had this in previous builds. mucter
In this build I can't pin the control panel in the taskbar. I thought I couldn't at first either. I tried pulling up control panel in the start panel and right clicking and telling it to pin to taskbar. Just doesn't give you the option in this build on some pc's, weird. But if I just run control panel, then right click on its icon on the taskbar, I can then pin it to the taskbar that way, and it works great after that. Guest neo7
This build is a regression, marred by many hardware-related BSODs (never seen in Build 7000), the popular blank/empty 'All Programs' Start Menu bug, and many more problems... Still a beta(3)-grade release and cannot be treated as RC or even close to RC/pre-RC (it is supposed to be RC 0.91). While I won't argue that this may be the case, other than the Windows Media Player bug (which I never use anyway) and the occasional message in Media Center about copying material, 7068 is rock solid. No significant issues at all. And much better than 700 as well as quicker in all aspects than 7000 and 7057. At least for me. Guest neo7
At least three persons on Neowin forums have had this blank Start Menu/All Programs bug. Guest neo7
It looks like a problem due to an upgrade from other builds. Nope. Happened with clean installs, with Vista x64 to Win7 7068 x64 upgrades, and with Win7 7000-> 7068 upgrades. All flavours! If they just have made a simple start menu, where people could find all icons in folders, just like it SHOULD be. It`s funny because we can supposedly browse the folder content, but not all of icons are shown. This is one of those classic Windows annoyances that we just have to live with. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/752814-build-7068-bugs/page/4/#findComment-590789286 Share on other sites
Lord Ba'al
Login screen customisation bug When I shut down yesterday, it suddenly had the default screen again (without me doing anything). When I booted up again, it still had the default screen. I looked in the registry (just in case) and found that, strangely enough, the value allowing custom login screens had been reset to 0, disabling it  After setting it to 1 again, it worked as it should. Explorer folder tree bug This bug has been around for some time already and is still not fixed. If a vertical scrollbar is displayed for the folder tree on the left and you select a folder there and press the small arrow left of it to expand it, the folder jumps to the bottom of the folder tree - very annoying :pinch: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/752814-build-7068-bugs/page/4/#findComment-590790348 Share on other sites
Imran Hussain
All of us aren't supposed to be using these builds, so please stop dissing Microsoft or Windows or blaming them on lack of quality and new bugs based on your experiences from these leaked builds. Access Denied
I could curse a mile long in here, lol. 7068 was running perfectly and faster than greased lightning on here. My effin wireless started dropping again, back to 7000. I'll run this one for 3 days to make sure its 7068 and not the card going belly up. GarethW
The wireless connection dopping is incredibly annoying, and was also present in 7057 but not in 7000. It seems to be an authentication issue, as wireless networks are still visible. Disabling and re-enabling the wireless network through the control panel cures it until it happens again. Mine doesn't drop out when just browsing sites, but is virtually guaranteed to do so if my other PC is downloading something at the same time. It isn't a router issue, and doesn't have anything to do with the number of half open connections. Also, if I log off my main PC from a Remote Desktop session, one of my monitors refuses to go to sleep, instead leaving a black screen with an arrow cursor. This issue has been in all builds, including 7000. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/752814-build-7068-bugs/page/4/#findComment-590793062 Share on other sites

chrismaddern
Laptop became very fussy on network connection. PC - wouldn't install. UncleSpellbinder
And again one more 'All Programs Empty':http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-suppor...rams-empty.html This is plaguing Build 7068 x64! I'm using 7068 (64-Bit). I installed it as an upgrade to 7057 and was dual booting along with Vista SP1. Never saw the "empty programs menu" issue. Reformatted my C drive, installed 7068 fresh, by itself. Still, no "empty programs menu". This build has been as rock solid as any OS I've used. Outshines Vista SP1 and XP, SP3.
