EVE-Online: Neowin Corporation

Well today I resigned from my dying corporation and reading the other Eve post here I have decided that its time to begin a Neowin corporation. Who would be up for this?

We should do a number of things if this is to become reality.

- Decide what would we focus on... I prefer a bit of everything, mining, research, development, PVP, PVE, etc... have divisions for all but within the same corp.

- Rules

- Mission statement

- Administrative players

Also anyone should be welcome, if you dont play EVE but would like to learn, the Neowin Corporation would be a great place to start.

So anyone up for this? Any ideas? Lets do this!

well the last corporation I was in, everyone ditched so it was only me and the CEO until he decided to dissolve the corp this morning, so I do have some experience with management. My specialty is in Diplomacy though. I would prefer more experienced players being the CEO and such but if nobody is willing, I can also give it a try.

I might join you, although I'm pretty tempted to form my own, only for the money (although I wouldn't admit that of course :p)

Well any CEO that stole money from Neowin Corp would of course be hunted down and executed :p lol

They do sell EVE now in stores... $39.99 CAN and it apperently gives u 60 days which is $10 CAN cheaper than if you did it online, and some VIP special edition ship or something

I would be up for it, but it looks like I would have to start a new account as I lost the username and password for it :(

But nonetheless I'm still up for it :)

or... you already play on your current account but as a pirate your standing is soo low that you cant go into highsec ;) :p

Attention:

The proposal for a Neowin corporation was originally suggested by me. I am displeased with the fact that I was not contacted before this proposal was made however what is done, is done.

I am currently a member of REPO, one of the better mercenary alliances in-game. I may be willing to offer my assistance to the Neowin corporation in the future. I would hate to be arch-rivals. xD

lol, sorry dude. Like I said the idea is from the other Eve thread I made and did not take credit for the idea. So if you want the credit for it, go ahead. I just thought that your idea is a great idea and we definetly need to start a neowin corp for neowin users and to introduce others to the world of EVE, so I thought it would be better to start this thread instead of continuing from the old one.

Let's Start:Does anyone want to start the corporation? I can't, dont have the skills and am currently training Industry V which will take 6 more days. The sooner we get it established, the sooner this idea can get off the ground.

Yeah if this happened Id give EVE another shot. Im always lost after the starting area and know no one who plays.

A couple tips to make it easier:

1: Agents have Levels and Qualities. Levels are how hard the missions are. Quality is how much rep you will get and how much they will pay you for doing the missions. Always try to find an agent who has the highest quality of the level you want to play (beginners should stick with level 1 for a while).

2: Agents have different divisions. I will post now what the differences are:

Administration: 50% Kill, 50% Courier

Advisory: 34% Kill, 66% Courier

Archives: 5% Kill, 90% Courier, 5% Trade

Astrosurveying: 40% Kill, 30% Courier, 25% Mining, 5% Trade

Command: 97% Kill, 3% Courier

Distribution: 5% Kill, 95% Courier

Intelligence: 85% Kill, 15% Courier

Internal Security: 95% Kill, 5% Courier

Legal: 50% Kill, 50% Courier

Manufacturing: 5% Kill, 95% Courier

Marketing: 5% Kill, 95% Courier

Mining: 5% Kill, 85% Courier, 10% Mining

Production: 5% Kill, 95% Courier

Public Relations: 34% Kill, 66% Courier

R&D: 0% Kill, 50% Courier(S), 50% Trade

Security: 90% Kill, 5% Courier, 5% Trade

Storage: 5% Kill, 95% Courier(L)

Surveillance: 95% Kill, 5% Courier

------------------------------------------------

Kill: Kill one or more NPCs

Courier: Move or Deliver cargo (usually less than 2k m3)

Courier(L): Move or Deliver large cargo (upto 20k m3)

Courier(S): Move or Deliver cargo (requires specialized science skills)

Trade: Purchace items on the market and then deliver

Mining: Retrieve ore/minerals

3: Certificates are a great way of keeping yourself on track in a chosen career. Say you want to be a soldier, go into the certificate planner and look at basic soldier. It tells you what it expects your training to be at. Once you complete that you move on to the lext soldir level and train those. You don't have to stick precisely to those (I actually only learned about this a month ago and have been doing fine), but it gives you a good idea of how to maximize your training

4: If you have any questions ask in the CORP channel. It's really the RMS channel if you're not in a corporation. There is a lot of childish talk there but I have never seen bad advice on that channel.

Im surprised nobody has taken it upon themselves to start a corporation yet. I would but again, I dont have the skills. Elven I know that you will definetly help out :). We just need someone to place "Neowin" on Eve... once thats done, I am immidietly transfering and gonna help out. We just need that initial corp registration by a member who has the skills to accept multiple members.

Starting a Corporation

If you want to start a corporation, you will need to have the basic Corporate Management skill. In addition, you will need a good chunk of cash, roughly around 1.6 million ISK. From then on the size of your corporation will be a test of your management skills.

Races in Eve are divided on some issues, the Amarr are less than fond of the Gallenteans and the Minmatar tribes still fight for their freedom against the Amarr Empire. With the scenario in mind, if you want to be an equal opportunity employer, you will also need an ethnic relations skill.

From then on, how you run your corporation is your decision. You can make it as complex, or as simple, as you wish. If you want to have accountants, financial officers, security agents, or just about any other conceivable corporate position, you have the power to create it. What limits you might just be your pocket, or your organizational skills!

Requirements for New CorporationsIn order to create a corporation, the player must:

Have the skill Corporation Management. Each Level of this skill allows 10 members to join.

Pay a set-up fee. This varies by region but is usually around 1,599,800 ISK

Be a member of an NPC corporation

To have races other than your own in your Corporation you will need the Ethnic Relations skill

    • Never used the G7 Pro, but I've never had a good experience with that style of d-pad and fighting games.
    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂

    • This Dell 27 inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor is really cheap after a very long time by Sayan Sen Recently we covered a really good deal on an AMD RX 9070 three-fan model that's available at slightly above its MSRP. If you are looking for a GPU for 1440p gaming that's around the performance of the Nvidia RTX 5070 you should most definitely check it out. Let's say that you are looking for a monitor to pair that up with too. The Samsung 49" G9 curved QD-OLED superultrawide is a good option that can provide an immersive experience. However despite being a very good deal currently (at $855), it may seem unaffordable to you, or you may simply not want to spend as much on a monitor. In that case Dell's S2725QS can be a very good option as it's on sale at the moment for its lowest price in over six months (purchase link under the specs table down below). The big highlight of the Dell S2725QS is its 27-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution, offering a high pixel density that can make text appear sharper while also providing plenty of screen space for productivity and media consumption. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through both HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable not only for everyday desktop use but also for smoother gaming and scrolling. AMD FreeSync Premium support is included as well, helping reduce screen tearing during gaming sessions. The screen has fairly good brightness and color accuracy so you can use it for general work purpose, though photo/video editing is probably not going to be the best match for this. The technical specs of the Dell S2725QS are given in the table below: Specification Value Viewable Screen Size 27 in (68.58 cm) Screen Mode 4K UHD Maximum Resolution 3840 × 2160 Maximum Preset Resolution 3840 × 2160 @ 120 Hz Standard Refresh Rate 120 Hz Panel Technology In-plane Switching (IPS) Backlight Technology LED Edgelight System Pixel Density 163 PPI Response Time 8 ms GTG, 5 ms GTG, 4 ms GTG Horizontal Viewing Angle 178° Vertical Viewing Angle 178° Brightness 350 cd/m² (nits) Native Contrast Ratio 1500:1 Color Support 1.07 Billion Colors Color Gamut 99% sRGB (CIE 1931) Adaptive Sync AMD FreeSync Premium HDCP Support Yes Mount Type Panel Mount VESA Mount 100 × 100 mm Maximum Height Adjustment 13 cm Tilt -5° to 21° Swivel -30° to 30° Pivot ±90° Stand Adjustments Tilt, Swivel, Height, Pivot Glass Hardness 3H Horizontal Frequency 27–270 kHz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Vertical Frequency 48–120 Hz (DisplayPort 1.4 / HDMI 2.1) Video Inputs 2 × HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3), 1 × DisplayPort 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3) Operating Temperature 0°C to 40°C Storage Temperature -20°C to 60°C Operating Humidity 10%–80% (Non-condensing) Storage Humidity 5%–95% (Non-condensing) Get it at the link below: Dell S2725QS 27-inch 4K 120Hz IPS monitor: $218.49 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $280) Good to know This Amazon deal is U.S. specific, and not available in other regions unless specified.
