George P Global Moderator Posted October 5, 2012 Global Moderator Share Posted October 5, 2012 If anything you do get the feeling that we're in for yet more action like the first one, which is good to me. I've always been a big fan of the star trek ship to ship battles like in the 2nd and 6th movies with the original crew. The 2009 movie did that good, we'll see what happens in this sequel. McCordRm
The first one was all character... well, Main character. The villain was there for fluff. I'm expecting this one to change gears and up the action ante. But even that being said... it's still going to be character driven, obviously. Just look at the cast. It's phenomenal. +Anarkii Subscriber² Posted October 7, 2012 Subscriber² Share Posted October 7, 2012 I expect nothing short of brilliance for this movie. I seriously hope it will fall along with Terminator 2 as one of the best sequels of all time :D

Seeing a trailer is one thing (though I even avoid those) but seeing the first 10 minutes then having to wait months to see the rest would be really annoying. mattmatik 1 Share

I used to know a guy who'd pay full price at the theatre just to see a trailer for a movie he's interested in, then he'd leave. The last time I saw him was at a movie showing the trailer for "Spider-Man" (2002)!
Albert
this is really an alternate universe story to the original star trek timeline. right off the bat the owners of star trek are playing it safe. i don't think i want to invest any attachment to something that even the franchise itself has no confidence in, or can easily brush off later. Where do you get that they have no confidence in it? JJ and his writers are huge Star Trek fans and they know the show and the universe well. Doing the "alternate universe through time travel changing history" bit is just a scifi way to reboot the series. I don't see a problem with it doing so. Rappy Veteran Posted November 18, 2012 Author Veteran Share Posted November 18, 2012 Will STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Be The Last Time We See Zachary Quinto As Spock? ?It?s like an era of association with certain roles ? a specific part like Spock, or a kind of part, like Sylar ? is coming to an end,? he says. +SOOPRcow MVC Posted November 18, 2012 MVC Share Posted November 18, 2012 I dunno, sounds like a whole lot of stuff being taken out of context to make a rumor for a movie that has had little to no spoilers :)
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted November 19, 2012 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2012 If he doesn't play Spock anymore, then they'll have to take the story into a radically different direction. Maybe even one with a new crew and starship.

Maybe even one with a new crew and starship. Why? Just recast it. That or add a few digits to his salary in a multi-film contract renegotiation, which is what this is probably all about. He looks the part but he didn't win me over with his interpretation of Spock. Too much emotion.
