Ambroos,

You can add AnyDVD 6.5.4.0 to the list. I just attempted an installation, and I received that error. CloneDVD installed perfectly.

even last last release works fine, probably the first time they used it to stop people seeing how they decrypt bd+ (wouldnt have thought it was for piracy as iirc its not fully cracked) scene releases with keygens exist but are useless if you have a new blu-ray and need to connect to there update server.

some versions of newsleecher also have this problem http://www.newsleecher.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18197

Realtek audio drivers problematic until I right clicked the setup.exe > compatibility tab > compatibility mode > Vista sp1 and voila installed perfectly.

same for Comodo firewall x64, CCleaner, RegistryCleaner x64, RegistryWorkshop x64 and running portable apps in a ramdisk.

Qsoft ramdisk enterprise x64 works well in this version. (auto 50% of 8GB)

I've got a question about Themida. I know it is a software protection product designed to prevent software from being "cracked" and uses encryption. But considering Themida is used by many virus writers, keylogger writers, etc., to conceal their malware, what could the advantages of Themida possibly be? Because no one can be absolutely certain that if and when Themida is detected by AV scanners and such whether it is malware or a legit product.

Good point. As it's that frequently used by virus writers etc., it's probably even better if it doesn't work

The authors of The Bat etc. had better looks for something else.

@ Ambroos

I was hoping you might be able to answer my question from the previous page. I'm really quite curious:

From the previous page:

Well, for things like Spotify it's important because if their protocol would get hacked or if too many people got insight in their application it would basically mean free music for everyone. And I think that most AV solutions are smart enough to see the virus through the Themida loader.

Their protocol was hacked months ago. http://despotify.se/ I agree though that people shouldn't hack it. The record lables are too anti-internet already.

Bull****. Daemon Tools works fine. If you can't get it to run check the thread on it here in the Windows 7 beta forum.

I can't get The Chronicles of Spellborn to run, as I discovered when I thought I'd try it out last week. Apparently this is a Windows 7 issue, so it probably isn't new to build 7077, but it has to do with some kind of anti-cheat software being unable to run. This is something that can be solved by the people who make the game, though, so hopefully an update will come soon to address the issue.

Aside from that, I've no experience with Themida and don't apparently use any applications that use it, because every other application I use runs fine.

Heck, Live MEssenger still crashes for me when it boots up on the Superbar. MS must love my crash reports!

APatch seriously breaks Windows Live Messenger in Windows 7 for me. Any chance you patched your Messenger?

Oh, really? How does it manifest itself? I never had that problem but maybe I'm not patching as much. Would be interesting to know what to look out for. :)

    • Limited Prime Day deal sees Amazon Echo Show 11 is at its lowest price yet by Ivan Jenic The Amazon Echo Show 11 is currently $149.99 on Amazon during Prime Day, down from $219.99. That's 32% off and $70 saved on Amazon's newest mid-size smart display (purchase link below). As its name suggests, the Echo Show 11 features a 11” Full-HD touchscreen, which is a decent upgrade over the Echo Show 8. It offers 60% more viewing area, which makes a genuine difference for recipes, calendars, video calls, or any other scenario where the smaller display can feel a bit cramped. The Show 11 is built around Alexa+, Amazon's more capable AI assistant that can handle natural conversation. You can make reservations, order groceries, and find content based on your preferences, instead of always having to give it precise commands. There’s also the Omnisense technology, which adds ambient awareness, allowing the device to trigger routines based on temperature, presence detection, or visual cues. Smart home control is built in without needing a separate hub, and the home screen doubles as a photo slideshow when not in use. Taking all of this into account, the Show 11 is a perfect smart addition to your kitchen counter or living room. At $149.99, this is a strong Prime Day buy for anyone already in the Amazon ecosystem or looking to build one out.
