Hi Windows X,

Great package, however I have a problem with the Slate PDC theme.

I had a previous version installed before and the Slate PDC theme had non apparent caption buttons on my windows (a bit like in the Aero concepts themes) which I liked very much.

I just installed version 7, and now the Slate PDC theme has ugly little caption buttons. How can I have the slick "faded into caption bar"caption buttons back ?

Thanks again for your great work

oh one thing i forgot to say was in the glass and athens themes, the start button when the cursor isnt on it is still black, not grey. it just changes reflection when u hover and then click not color. those start buttons should act like the aero night start button works

Can't get it to work.

It doesn't really freeze or give me any error message.

It comes to a point, where it tells me that it's going to bring up my Lunar Theme &

I should click OK. It never brings it up & it just sits in the background forever.

I then closed the program (ctrl + alt + delete = as you can't see it running),

changed over to windows xp theme (lunar) & reran the program. Still the

same message. I also get this in safe mode as well.

Thoughts?

I have a problem with Slate PDC, Im not sure if its the same one mentioned just above.

In Explorer, in say, My Computer, along the top, in V6 I used to have all the Details and links to other places and information on the selected drive or folder.

Now I have 3 links and thats it??

Is there a way to get this back to the same as V6?

Thanks!

Excellent work Windows X! :woot:

darko, Stefanka used to ask me why I didn't use his own as mod. I told him I'll manage my own and thank him about gridlayout element.

darko, you aren't themer so you'll never know it. I hate explaining things for myself. Looks selfish and waste of time. Findout yourself for proof then.

jolly jumper, try deleting files in Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 to recycle bin and try again. If it's just boot screen and shellstyle, try to wait for WFP and close it before clicking finish button and change your current theme to others. Not every theme has top pane shellstyle.

    • Steam Next Fest returns with thousands of new demos to try out by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Valve has been routinely kicking off demo festivals on Steam for years now, and the second drop of 2026 has just opened its doors. It's a great opportunity for any PC gamers to find some interesting games before they release. The June edition of Steam Next Fest is a week-long digital festival including gameplay slices from a large number of indie developers, though a few major publishers are involved this time too. Interested players can use the Next Fest hub page's various sorting and filtering options to easily sort through the hordes of demos available. The top buttons offer quick access to separate and important sorting options, including "By Genre, By Theme, By Feature," with each one offering more granular settings when clicked. At the same time, the built-in Steam tags system is also available below every page to discover new games more quickly. As always, logging in will also enable Steam gamers to utilize Valve's recommendation algorithms to find game demos they might like, specifically, depending on their past play and purchase histories. This time there is even a toggle now to swap between getting a random and personalized selection as Valve collects more data on the available demos. The Charts section is where you can find the most popular demos on the platform right now, offering up the most hyped titles in a simple list. Right at the kickoff, Mistfall Hunter, Empulse, Echoes of Aincrad, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Over the Hill, Mortal Shell II, and more are trending. Expect this list to change as the week progresses. This edition of the Steam Next Fest is slated to end on June 22 at 10 AM PT. Valve's latest event is now open, and it can be accessed by going to the dedicated hub page here.

Going to the mess.be website (still online with no changes since 2013) to download display pictures etc. I was a beta tester for Messenger Plus! and spent quite a lot of time on the MsgPlus! forums (a read-only copy is still online at https://shoutbox.menthix.net) Some old Neowin articles also https://www.neowin.net/news/messenger-plus-350/ good times but how time flies The main developer of Messenger Plus!, Cyril aka.
