[Cancelled] Heroes Season 4 (Volume 5 : Redemption)

So is Peter still able to die now he do NOT have healing power?

I may have to look at the Finale last season again, did he Last took Mohinder's power?

Nope he doesn't have the healing power, unless he were to touch Claire and get it from her, but that would mean he would only have that ability as he can only hold one at a time.

Yeah he must of seen Mohinder before he went away and then used it for his job...now he has speed its better for him rescuing people!

The last power he took onscreen was Sylar's power in the last season. We know he had Mohinder's power up until the end of the most recent episode because he told Noah in his apartment that he took it from Mohinder. Let go of the fanatical love for Heroes and just pay attention dude.

^ Jesus Christ you people really need to chill! :|

I am pretty sure he did not have healing power and last power he took was NOT Mohinder thus I asked otherwise why would I even bother to ask?

Well, that explains why Mohinder is not in this episode.

Let go of the fanatical love for Heroes and just pay attention dude.

And, can YOU let go of the insulting attitude and just understand I am NOT as stupid as you think? I am Pretty sure I know as much as you know, but was just making sure if I somehow missed a part, but I now know I didn't!

*SIGH*

Why do I even bother? I am going to SHH and Kryptonsite forums! :|

Kryptonsite forum is full of fanboys. They will rate anything a 10 as long as Milo or Tom is in it, regardless of the actual quality of the show.

Heroes still has glaring issues and the characters are still being written to fit the situation rather than the situation around the character.

Question: Is this ?Redemption? arc of Heroes going to last the whole season? Or will it be another half-season affair? ?Dannyny

Ausiello: It?ll span the entire 19-episode season.

NBC was fourth, it's two-hour "Heroes" (6 million, 2.7) premiere falling 46% from last year's one-hour opener. The show's demo also dropped from its first hour to its second -- not a good sign. At 10 p.m., "The Jay Leno Show" (5.7 million, 1.8) assumed its third-place position and dipped below a 2.0 for the first time.

I think this is going to be the final season.

Good. Please don't come back. At least you'll have people there that will agree with you when you call steaming piles of crap 'a great episode' like you do with Smallville over and over and over.

I think this is going to be the final season.

I doubt that will be the case, but then, they weren't necessarily given a full 22+ episode season, so there might be something to that.

Alright now, let's settle down before things get carried away please.

Its lower rated than stuff they've already cancelled in the past couple years.

Lets put it this way: The second hour is getting comparable to the ratings SCC had when it was on Fridays.

They gotta amp up Peter, Sylar has to find himself... the world has to start waking up. Peter must be restored to his former glory, Claire has to go away.

The future they prevented, the one where people were flying, would be a fun future to explore. Probably too expensive to show though.

Yeah but NBC have invested alot into the series marketing and separate ARG's and Webisodes they will want to take a good hard look before they decide anything like that.

That makes it worse. Spending all kinds of money and getting no return means that they need to cut their losses faster.

Not sure if anyone posted the ratings yet, but they weren't good at all:

"Heroes brought in 46% less viewers than the premiere of season 3, with only 6 million people watching. In the bigger picture of the series, the very first episode of season 1 brought in 14 million, and the highest viewership being the premiere of season 2 with 17 million."

And after the poor start, it wouldn't surprise me to see next week's episode even lower. It isn't looking good for the show.

And I'll be the first to admit, that makes me sad. I don't want to see Heroes go. I haven't enjoyed it since the first season, but I do still keep up with the story-arcs and every once in a while, I'll watch an episode hoping that something's changed. But so far, it doesn't look like they have redeemed themselves. A season premier is suppose to give a preview of where the entire season is headed and I didn't care for where this one is headed so far. It seems we still are stuck with "disjointed story line's and repetitive, mopey characters."

Maybe, hopefully, that'll change.

True, they haven't spent alot this season though the Webisodes didn't run over the summer they are running alongside the series (starting next week!) and the promotion wasn't that big this year, even at comic con.

I just want to clear up that the super speed guy said, "I met an impasse", NOT empath. I think he is referring to Peter, although not specifically. Could be Tracy.

Anyway, the show is still decent, not like season 1 but it's better than some of the reality crap or game shows that's on TV.

Kill the cheerleader, save the show. (And, by all means, bring another hottie to make up for the loss)

The use of 'impasse' would have been correct in the context it was used.

But he said empath.

Not that it matters, its a silly point.

We know what Peter's power is, it doesn't really matter if they still consider it 'empathic mimicry' or not.

    • GitHub removes manual model selection from Copilot free and student plans by Karthik Mudaliar GitHub is removing the ability to manually select an AI model from its Copilot Free and Student plans, making its automatic routing system the default and only way to choose a model. This means users on these tiers will no longer be able to deliberately select a particular OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft model for a task. In its announcement, GitHub said Copilot Auto will dynamically choose what it considers the best model for each request. Free and Student accounts will retain access to models from multiple families, although the available selection will continue to depend on the restrictions attached to each plan. GitHub did not identify a fixed pool of models that Auto will always use, and its documentation warns that model availability can change over time. GitHub describes Auto as more than a random fallback system. On supported surfaces, its task-optimization technology evaluates the complexity of a request alongside real-time information about model health and availability. Straightforward prompts can be routed to faster and less expensive models, while more demanding coding tasks may be sent to higher-cost reasoning models. The company says this approach should reduce rate limiting, latency, and failed requests. Auto generally selects one model along natural prompt-caching boundaries rather than repeatedly switching models during a session, as GitHub found that mid-session changes increased costs without producing sufficient improvements in output quality. Users can still check which model generated a response. In Copilot Chat, the information appears when hovering over an answer, while Copilot CLI and the Copilot cloud agent display the selected model alongside their output. Auto is available in Copilot Chat, Copilot CLI, and the cloud agent, with the exact implementation and release status varying between supported development environments. The latest restriction follows several months of adjustments to Copilot’s individual plans. GitHub temporarily halted new Pro, Pro+, and Student subscriptions in April as it sought to manage demand and service reliability. It later introduced token-based billing and began gradually reopening individual-plan registrations on June 17. Alongside the picker change, GitHub is retiring the “Preview” label from Microsoft-developed models. It argues that the label is no longer necessary because Auto handles model routing and models are continuously updated behind the scenes.

    • Google reportedly set to lose two key Gemini and DeepMind researchers to Anthropic by Karthik Mudaliar Google is reportedly preparing to lose two more prominent artificial intelligence researchers, with Gemini contributors Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel planning to join rival AI developer Anthropic. According to a report from Bloomberg, both researchers are viewed internally as important contributors to Google’s flagship Gemini model family. Adler worked on Google’s AI coding efforts, while Pritzel was involved in the process used to train AI systems. Neither company has publicly confirmed the moves. The report also does not say when the researchers will formally leave Google or what positions they will hold at Anthropic. Training a large AI model requires decisions covering its architecture, data preparation, distributed computing infrastructure, and post-training methods that shape how the finished system behaves. Researchers with experience operating at the scale of Gemini are consequently difficult to replace quickly. Both Adler and Pritzel have previously contributed to Google DeepMind’s scientific research as well. They are listed among the authors of the company’s work on expanding AlphaFold protein-structure predictions across entire proteomes, alongside AlphaFold researchers including John Jumper. The reported departures arrive shortly after another important change within Google’s Gemini organization. Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving Google for OpenAI, after returning to the search company in 2024 through its deal with Character.AI. Shazeer is particularly well known as one of the authors of the Transformer paper, whose architecture became the foundation for most modern large language models. Anthropic, meanwhile, has been recruiting recognizable figures from other leading laboratories. OpenAI co-founder and former Tesla AI director Andrej Karpathy joined Anthropic’s pre-training team in May. His move, followed by the reported recruitment of several Google researchers, suggests Anthropic is strengthening the research teams responsible for the core capabilities of future Claude models rather than concentrating solely on product and enterprise sales. The competition is complicated by the companies’ extensive commercial relationships. Anthropic competes directly with Google’s Gemini models, but it also relies on Google as an infrastructure partner. In April, Anthropic announced an expanded agreement with Google and Broadcom covering multiple gigawatts of next-generation Tensor Processing Unit capacity.
