*Sigh* I just don't trust the Nielson ratings anymore. What shows gets the highest ratings... I personally find it TOTALLY BS!!!

I NEVER watch these shows that gets the highest ratings on Nielson! I just think they are NOT fair with the distribution of these survey boxes!

If ANY of you care that much about the ratings, it's sad really.

When a show is Awesome, it would be Awesome to OURSELVES, NO matter what ratings it gets, it DOESN'T matter!!!

Same concept with critics!

Enhance your calm buddy, enhance your calm. Those numbers are pretty darn accurate, so don't get upset because what you consider crap is more popular than what you believe to be awesome.

Ummm No, they are NOT accurate at all! After Smallville and Heroes I know by reading the Message boards that MOSTpeople LOVED it, said it's much better than last few seasons, by a lot!

So, in the end who cares? These ratings MEANS NOTHING!!!

ONLY a very FEW people said otherwise, that it still sucked. Well, you CAN'T EVER please everybody. Some people should just STOP watching, instead of still watching and raining on parades for everybody else who loved it!

I'm assuming you're referring to the forums that are filled with fanboys that would fawn for poop with a cape on it because it has a special power?

The ratings speak for themselves and frankly, you're not qualified to argue otherwise that they are meaningless. You say who cares, but then you go on a tirade about how people who argue against you don't know what they're talking about and are just trying to bring you down. The fact remains that those numbers are an accurate portrayal of who is watching what. Reality shows garner high ratings, which is why there are so many of them, so you can't say the ratings are meaningless when they clearly speak for themselves on what is and is not popular.

And again, are the ratings really meaningless? Tell that to network executives. They don't care about a speck of an audience when their return on investment is costing them money. Ratings matter very much; they're the reason many great, and horrible, shows have been canceled and will continue to be canceled.

I CAN'T stand the reality shows, yet that's what's the Most popular. *SIGH*

It really boggles my mind how those crap is more desired than any kind Dramas, especially Superhero dramas that's what MOST interesting to ME.

All I am saying is why should WE care, if the show is Great? IF Execs are worried, let THEM worry.

Are we Execs? Last time I checked I am NOT, and I am pretty sure MOST of you aren't either.

If there is no other way, just let it be cancelled then!!! We find it to be great, but rest of Idiots who Adore Reality shows don't find it great... *Sigh*

Do I give a **** (That Reality show freaks do NOT watch Heroes, 24, Lost, Smallville)? No, I say to HELL with them!

After hearing so many good things about Smallville, and Heroes regard the show's NEW season I know it's NOT the fault of the QUALITY of the show that the ratings are low!!!

You know, you speak without all the over-the-top ENUNCIATION, you wouldn't sound like such a bias fanboy. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you somewhat. Well-written scripted shows are much better than reality/game shows. But the ones to blame here is the majority of American viewers. But then again you can't blame them just because their tastes in television are different. They're taste in senseless crap trumps their imaginative side when it comes to sci-fi shows like Heroes or Smallville.

As far as the ratings go, well, advertising times are the name of the game when it comes to executives, not quality of the shows. That's Hollywood, get use to it. I don't like it anymore than you do.

It's not just about Heroes, or Smallville...

I CAN gurante you that when 24 and Lost returns their ratings also won't be as good as it once was.

It's NOT about the quality of these shows anymore, it's ONLY about what's on the other stations (Reality shows, Mundane Dramas without anything weird/too much confusion, Sports or Comedies that's a SURE winner in these Nielson ratings!)

Just saw Monday's episode. Not too bad, but nothing out of the ordinary. I chose to watch House this past week instead of Heroes but I'll probably end up watching Heroes from now on because we don't get Fox in HD like NBC. Did Heroes get moved back soley because of Chuck?

I Know. What We should DO is to mAke a NEW rating System. We'll call It the "JediXANGel Rating System". How's that?

If you don't give a crap about what the executives think, then think again. If they don't like it and the ratings reflect it, the show goes.

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
