No offense but until you can prove that he said impath or that Peter IS an empath (whatever that power is) I'm going with impasse

i dont care enough to try and "prove" it... but dont you think the writers would have chosen a different way of wording that sentence. Why have him say "I met an impasse"... when it can so easliy be confused with empath? He could have just as easily said "I ran into a roadbock... "

What I'm saying is impasse is refering to a power of a person. Plus like I said before, he might not even be referring to Peter. Don't you think it's more likely people heard it wrong than the writer chose the wrong word? What is an empath?

Impasse is not a power.

Empath is short for empathy. Or in this case, empathic mimicry.

I hate to join into this... but didn't the empath/impasse speach happen before the fast guy ran into peter? I could swear he said it right after his encounter with Tracy.... if so, then its impasse, if it is after his fight with peter, then it's most likely empath.

Uh...no. Close captioning gets words wrong all the time.

It was said after encountering Peter.

I replayed those lines again and again. "Empath" and "impasse" have similar ending sounds, but you can hear him make the "sss" sound when he says the line. So, it is impasse, the context of the word usage is right, and the official closed captions from the NBC website confirm it. Closed captions only make mistakes during live events, not primetime tv episodes completed weeks ago. Besides, how sound is it to assume Edgar automatically knows Peter is an empath based on that limited encounter? Quite unlikely.

I was skeptical myself. This and the other scene where Noah had burned his food and turned on the faucet in the sink. I thought Tracy was going to sneak up on him.

Edgar " Didn't really get a chance.

The actor cast as Edgar is scottish and us scots do pronounce the th sound differently. Impasse makes no sense in this context

Seriosuly guys? Edgar had that scene AFTER he ran into Peter and HRG. Peter is an Empath. Edgar last ran into him before talking to Samuel. He clearly said Empath, and is clearly talking about Peter, the guy he previously just ran into. Not that difficult.

You must never use CC. It is VERY often wrong, even on old shows.

      Researchers claim Microsoft's quantum breakthrough is flawed by basic Python errors by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft's aggressive roadmap to deliver a commercial quantum supercomputer by 2029 has now hit a bit of a snag, and it's not because of a complex sub-zero dilution refrigerator, but rather because of a few lines of basic Python code. A new critique published in the scientific journal Nature argues that simple software errors effectively manufactured the breakthrough that Microsoft's foundational research claimed back in 2025 into Majorana-based topological qubits. Topological quantum computing, the path that Microsoft chose for its research, relies on creating and controlling "Majorana zero modes." These are exotic quasiparticles that theoretically offer vastly superior error resistance compared to the highly sensitive superconducting qubits currently being championed by rivals like Google and IBM. However, physically proving you have created these particles requires sifting through massive amounts of complex electrical conductance data to isolate a specific "topological gap." Because of the sheer volume of data, physicists rely heavily on custom software pipelines to process the results. This is where the Python scripts come in. Now, according to the critique, Microsoft’s data processing software contained fundamental programming errors that ultimately skewed the published results. However, Microsoft is pushing back hard against these allegations. The Redmond giant has formally rejected the criticism, saying that it's just a minor anomaly rather than a fatal flaw. According to the company, while there may have been a minor oversight in the data parsing scripts, it does not alter the fundamental reality of their physical experiment. Just weeks ago, Microsoft unveiled the Majorana 2 quantum processor, a milestone so significant that the company boldly accelerated its timeline for a commercial quantum supercomputer from 2035 down to 2029. Version 26.6.2 brought AMD FSR 4.1 support to the previous-gen Radeon lineup, the RX 7000 series, giving users better upscaling tech that was previously locked to the newest GPUs.
