Hmm, that square in the top right corner shouldn't be there (that part tests @font-face, which was also in the previous beta)

Acid3 depends on a couple of big things to pass, for example an SMIL and SVG Fonts implementation, both of which should hopefully be in Gecko 1.9.2 (And I think it'll get another point due to a fix in the HTML parser). This also gives you a good idea of how long it'll take IE to pass the test.

There's also a few issues (like the favicon, but there's still questions about that, if the server returns a 404 and data, what should the client do?) and Acid3 breaks the back/forward buttons (due to iframes it uses).

Edit: Oh yeah, the current nightlies are up to 96/100 if you enable SMIL in about:config.

If I'm using Minefield, should I bother with this beta? Is Minefield already as advanced as 3.5 Beta 4?

Well, that would depend when you last updated your Minefield. If you are using daily updates then you should have something newer than 3.5 Beta 4.

If, however, you have a Minefield build that was downloaded months ago then that changes things.

I find flash videos just don't run with this beta. Anyone else?

Example, http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4131450 I see the still, hit the play, and nothing happens.

running here with no problems ... and after a clean install I find this beta much better than 3.0.10

Flashgot doesn't work properly in 3.5 Beta 4, messes up the Save (download) Dialog:

Odd. Maybe it has to do with windows 7? not sure.

Went to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

and it says You have version 10,0,22,87 installed

The Video plays fine for me too. Windows 7 x64 build 7100

I have two pc's running win7 64 bit build 7100 and firefox 3.5 beta 4 and flash works flawlessly on both.

I can't use my back and forward buttons on my MX Revolution. I thought it was my mouse at first but then it works in IE8 and Google Chrome. I also have the same issue as James_478 with FlashGot but other than that it runs flawlessly. Just a bit annoying that I have to move my mouse a bit to return to a previous page.

Works fine on my MX Revolution.

Then I have no idea what's wrong, I have SetPoint installed so it should work. The fact that it works in other places means it is something to do with Firefox, as the previous version worked fine but this didn't.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
    • eh I'll wait for the June 2026 MVS ISO downloads which should be coming out next Tuesday June 16 and possibly contain build 8655 instead of 8653
