Computer doesn't wake up after sleep - windows 7 related?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have the same problem where your computer will not wake up after sleep mode. I press the power button and the computer comes on but no picture on my screen - it's like the signal doesn't transfer to my screen!

I was having a similar problem until I found out the real reason: my computer wasn't coming out of sleep because I've been keeping it up too late at night. Sometimes I was even having it stay up while I went to bed. I finally realized that that's not fair at all. I understand now that sometimes my computer needs to decide whether it needs more sleep than I think it does. I fixed the problem by letting it sleep a good 10 hours. Now, it's up and awake and chipper, and running better than ever! I just installed Windows 7 on it, and after reformatting the drive from Vista, plus installing all the programs after putting on the new OS, it was clear that the PC was just wiped out! I think during the night sometimes I'm going to even shut it down; that way it can really get some deep, much-needed rest and be ready to go for the next day. Other than that, I can't think of why else it wouldn't want to wake up. Or maybe just your monitor needs a little more shut-eye.

I had the same problem - i am quite sure it was the motherboard. The following should fix it (might take a minute or two to do):

- switch off pc

- turn off power supply pack

- open pc

- find the battery on the motherboard

- take it out

- turn power supply on a gain and start the pc

- it should work again

- if it works, turn it off and insert the battery again

cheers

The sleep mode doesnt work for me either....If I select the option it won't wake up afterwards regardless of what I do.

Interestingly, if I leave the PC idle for a period it appears to go to sleep automatically. In this case hitting the power button does work.

It's strange

What? Why? Anyway, make sure your chipset drivers are updated. Then go into the Device Manager and make sure they keyboard and mouse are set to wake the computer.

Thats weird, both hibernation and sleep work perfectly here.

I'm new to these forums but I've done plenty anyway enough of the jabber I'm on a network with another computer that holds my INTERNET connection now if that computer shuts down or something that would mean no more connection for me, were both on windows 7 home premium but anyway my reply to this question is the main computer I'm using the wireless signal on is not waking up even though both the wireless and the computer are still functioning properly but still will not wake up i've tried all the commands ctl atl and delete ect. Please help.
