Thinkin of switchin...

people - let it go.

i think we all know that macs are the best machine for US. he knows the PC is the best machine for him, and for the guy who started this thead (at least for gaming) a PC is good for him too.. nobody is going to "win" this argument. we know what we like, and i'll tell you what, that's a compelling reason to ME.

I find it so cute how people will twist their own posts depending on how things are going for them.

Somehow this;

My point was and still is that there is not a single compelling reason to switch to a Mac.
became this;
If you read through the threads, you will note that I was aksing for a compelling reason for this guy to switch to Mac. You and others have taken offense with my assertion that given this young man's needs, a PC is the best choice.

[LOF]skinnylegs; Tsk tsk. Nice way to attempt to backpeddle, but I'm not buying it, and anyone with an IQ greater than the average futon would see right through it as well. You're trolling. Period. End of story. And this isn't the first time you've done it, so you can save it. You're a gamer. You've never used OS X, nor a recent Mac. That, my friend, makes you and all the uber-PC kiddies that decided to stick your noses in this thread completely and totally ignorant about the intended question. You cannot accurately answer a question about experience when you have no experience about the subject yourself. Analogy; me, teaching an a seminar on particle acceleration. I know jack sh!t about particle acceleration, much like you know about OS X. The individual that started this thread wanted opinions from Mac users about gaming on Macs, which should be blatantly obvious by him posting said question in the MACINTOSH forum. I know this may come as a shock to you, but some of us maybe, just maybe, are recent switchers, and are still pretty knowledable about PCs, or possibly even *gasp* own one! So thanks for nothing, and your opinion means approximately doo-doo in here. Have a nice day, and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. Toodles!

:rolleyes: :whistle:

Wow...this thread has taken an interesting turn. Dazzla, I'm surprised at your response. I would expect that a "mod" would read the thread from beginning to end before making statements such as you have made. Let me save you the time. The first post is as follows:
Okay, I might be thinkin of switchin to mac, altho, I have some questions.

I know you can emulate Windows on a mac (That's cool), but can u run Windows games properly on a mac?

Just that I'm a good UT2003 player, as well as Quake Engine-based games (MOHAA,...), so will I be able to use em?

I could have tried on my school's iMac (G3 500 Mhz), but trust me, it's already slow enough on OSX... lol

Now...can you honestly say that the best choice for this guy is a Mac? If so, you are ignorant. Gaming is obviously important to this young man or he would not have brought it up in his second sentence. That being said, a PC would be his best choice. Once again, I stated his best choice. Games that require 3D acceleration are unplayable using programs like Virtual PC. There are, of course, many games that are available for the Mac but if someone is really into gaming (for whatever reason), a PC is the obvious choice.

If you read through the threads, you will note that I was aksing for a compelling reason for this guy to switch to Mac. You and others have taken offense with my assertion that given this young man's needs, a PC is the best choice. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing because he's already said what he's doing.

You mean in the same way you say:

My point was and still is that there is not a single compelling reason to switch to a Mac.

Instead of:

If you read through the threads, you will note that I was aksing for a compelling reason for this guy to switch to Mac. You and others have taken offense with my assertion that given this young man's needs, a PC is the best choice.
Backtracking at all?
Make no mistake, Macintosh makes a great computer and from what I have seen, OS X seems like a great OS. However, it is not the rig of choice when it comes to gaming.

I know a Mac's not for gaming, he's been told that, yet after being told that he still states his intent to buy a mac in addition to his PC. Perhaps you forgot to mention that. Or perhaps you should re-read the thread like you're telling all of us to do.

It appears that you are happy with your computer and your OS and that's a good thing. I would hope, however, that you would be able to offer objective advice to those who post in this forum.

I'm perfectly objective, I'm on a PC, I've owned a mac in the past. Trolling just doesn't go down well.
