[Cancelled] FlashForward - Season 1

Recommended Posts

@Peewee210,

- Well, Darlton have always said that everything was planned on Lost and that they knew exactly how it was gonna end. Thing is, mostly due to the strike, some adjustments were inevitable. I don't think one could say that Lost's storyline was stretched out.

Actually they did stretch LOST. There were a lot of fillers near the end of S2 which continued till mid S3. LOST picked up pace only after ABC announced an end date.

I am yet to watch FF, as I would hate to back another looser (I am already watching Dollhouse and there is no way that Whedon is gonna get enough seasons to wrap it up properly). The pilot's ratings was pretty good. It will be interesting to see if it can hold on to a 10 mill+ rating as the season progresses.

Terrible pilot. Was all over the place, sfx were terrible and aside from the 'omg! shocker' ending which was very well done - its nothing we havent seen before. I weep that they copied Lost so much and reckon I'll watch the next few episodes and then skip to the end to see what happens.

But, if they follow the book then its a really crappy conclusion. Although the book is very very good!

Wow just watched the 1st episode, loved it, very good and a very good cast, good to see a British person in it :D

+1 I enjoyed the episode. Was skeptical about the show. The trailer was interesting, but nothing special, but this could be a good show.

I just watched the first episode, I thought it was pretty good, the storyline is interesting. A few of the special effects in the car chase frustrated me though, it's getting the simple things like a car crashing and then continuing without a scratch that really bug me. I'm assuming that the FBI team will expand too, the idea of it just being 8-10 people tracking down someone/something that might be behind a world wide black out would be a bit of a joke. I'll try and catch the next episode but I'm not completely sold on it just yet.

@Krome,

- Lost is a sci-fi tv show (time jumps, the island is not stupid at all but actually intelligent, smoke monster, ...) well known for the huge effort put on very small details and for the dedication of it's fans (huge forums, theories, frame-by-frame watching, ...). Lost starts with the same scene as FF, only with an island instead of LA and a plane instead of cars. Lost also puts the viewer in the same situation as the "victims", so during the progression you are as clueless as them (that's maybe what's making it boring for you).

- Well there are other Lost specificities but I think those are the main ones that can be also applied to FF (oh, and FlashForwards are also a key element on Lost). I honestly think that if you liked FF there is no way you won't like Lost as the feeling is very similar, especially if you prefer character-driven stories to action-driven ones. But hey, tastes ... :p

Thanks Fahd for filling me in on that. Lost is a lost cause for me. I can't seem to get into the series even from the first episode. I just think FF is much more realistic to watch cos it does not just happens to only one group of people on the plane, it happens to everyone at the same time. I think I did not enjoy Lost is probably because I didn't get to watch the episode that contains the main cliff hangers. But at least, now though, I understand why people saying it's the sister show of Lost. Thanks for that informative feedback.

    • Not really. It should be unnoticeable in the end. All this change does is take advantage of your CPUs boost clocks for specific tasks which should be used in this fashion anyway. Actually, it should've been like this for years.
    • This sort of thing isn't anything new, lots of Linux distros act this way iirc.
