[Cancelled] FlashForward - Season 1

I hope you don't watch 24 - then you'd be having a field day nitpicking at their inconsistencies and their use of computers etc. Even the latest fringe had a "secure FTP" scene, where it was displaying images and all this techy looking screen when a FTP looks nothing like that. I just take it with a pinch of salt.

As for the filming goofs, like the bracelet or the coke, it happens with everything and even hollywood films have goofs in them. It's just part and parcel of filming and I guess more likely to happen on a TV show than film as I imagine they spend less time of each scene and do less takes.

yeah go to moviemistakes.com and have a field day with all of the problems listed. Every show has problems with editing. No way to prevent it unless everything was done in chronological order and in one take. So the minor issues should be ignored or noticed for fun (ie in Heroes, Hiro runs on the roof the second time to stop a guy from jumping and a smudge on his cheek disappears and then reappears). Major plot holes though are a different story.

I am quite enjoying this, but i'm slightly worried that its one they may cancel and never give us an ending!

Well as far as I know, the first week's ratings were pretty good and it's been holding unto it's audience for the past 2 weeks now. Didn't it get like a 7 with a 10 share the first week or something? (I'm just pulling numbers out of my butt, I don't remember them exactly)

And lets not mention the window scene in London in episode 1, where you can see the tower of London, Big Ben and the London Eye through one window. I've lived in London for nearly 40 years, that's just BS! And considering Alex Kingston (a British actress) was in that shot, surely she could have consulted somewhat. I realize the film makers wanted to convey to the average dumb American that this was taking place in a different country but please, give the American public some credit.

It's not the Tower of London in the background, it's part of Westminster Abbey, so you would see both that, big ben and the london eye if you were sitting on the north side of the river and facing the london eye.

Yeah, not to mention as an "average dumb American" I was pretty sure that was taking place in London without ever looking at the background skyline. (Though that was pretty obviously part of Westminster Abbey as Brodel mentioned)

I'm pretty sure they simply did that to nail down that it was an important scene and not some throwaway thing that they will forget about 4 episodes in (I hope not anyways, I WUB Alex Kingston).

:)

Some Good news for you guys.

Flashforward has been picked by ABC for a full season airing

Wooo :)

More problems with the show...

I just watched episode 3 again and noticed the following:

Glass is Never Half Full

In the scene where Penelope is having lunch with that black woman (the head FBI's wife), look at her glass at the beginning of the scene. At the beginning, it's about 10% full with a dark liquid, which looks like coke. In a few moments later (about 30 seconds in to the scene), her glass in now full with a yellow (urine) coloured drink. Weird!

Das English Buch

It's very unlikely that a prison in south Germany would have English books in it's library. How do I know the Bird book was in English? Well, Penelope's husband was reading it aloud in the penultimate scene of the episode.

Who cares?

Murder Population

In the above mentioned scene the cute FBI chick pulls up data of the crow population. The data shows a shizzle load of crows had died on the day of the blackout, which in the episode is about 4 or 5 days ago. However, the graph shows data that exceeds in to the next few months! WTF?

Ever heard of projections?

Department of Homeland Insecurity

Again, in the above scene, the hot FBI chick looks up some record of CDC requesting funds from HLS to investigate the sudden death of the murders (collection of crows) and the then blackouts of the human population in that area. This report was dated 1991. However, as we all (wise people) know HLS didn't have a name until September 8th, 2001.

I mean, come on, these are rookie mistakes.

Yup, I noticed that too.

However, your date is quite obviously wrong. DHS wasn't created until after 9/11.

And lets not mention the window scene in London in episode 1, where you can see the tower of London, Big Ben and the London Eye through one window. You've already been corrected on this.

Anyway, Agent Kno is going to survive his murder, since he knows how he is going to die, by making sure he wears a bulletproof vest on that day.

Today's episode was really boring.

Also, I found 2 more mistakes:

1) The "Hot blond" is not hot, not at all!

2) And since she's been in custody since the balcouts, she would not have had internet access, so how did she know the details of what Sulu posted?

Also, if Penelope **really** want's to change the future, rather than trying to move the young boy to a diffenret department, she should have quit her job.

Neither of those are mistakes.

(1) That is a matter of opinion, can't be a mistake.

(2) There are some jurisdictions that give inmates access to the internet. I can't say whether or not the FBI does, but I know someone that I went to high school with who is incarcerated and he has access to the internet once a week for something like thirty-minutes I believe. That is a local jurisdiction, so again, the FBI may be different, but still a possibility.

And you act as if Dr. Olivia Benford (or Dr. B ;) ) has an easy choice. Seriously? You think quitting is an easy choice? She's a doctor for crying out loud, it isn't as if she'd find a new job like that. She has a family to help support too.

I'm not sure if I can take this show seriously.

The stupid continuous music montages. This week wasn't as bad as last week, but come on. Way to make dramatic moments a complete joke.

What is up with that dialogue at the end? Let me throw in the sinister evil laugh with it.

So how does the little girl know about DB Gibbons and the little boy? That would mean that both the little autism boy and DB Gibbons would have to be with the little girl. And how would she know he was a bad man? Im guessing the the boy's dad is Gibbons but in his FF (at least from the doctors FF) is just sitting around. I like this show but its already ****ed up.

I agree Rappy was pretty good, I also agree the show is kinda weird in how they do stuff. Its like they are making some rookie mistakes with it.

As Mudslag said, how in the heck does the little girl know DB Gibbins is a bad man and know A LOT about them. I mean she seen two minutes and 17 seconds, I can understand how she knows the little boy, maybe they were in the room playing together or something, but she acts as though she has KNOWN him forever screaming and yelling that he is hurt, etc.. Just doesn't fit.

for number 2, she said that everyone there knew about it. she didn't need an internet connection to know.

i think that she saw d gibbins drowning her babysitter. the little boy was with her and she knew that they were friends the same way her mom knew she had lots of feelings for the other guy.

    • They thought value of their goods would forever only drop like it used to and didn't account for sudden increase in price because of all the Ai hype. Tough luck Samsung, don't try to weasel this one out. Also American customer protection laws are a**. In Europe, you need to be compensated for a functioning product of same or better characteristics (not same price point as when it was originally bought!) if it can't be repaired and when you receive a replacement product your warranty starts from scratch because you received a different item than you previously had and old warranty thus cannot apply to it anymore. If your actual item was successfully repaired, warranty gets extended for the period the item was in service. If item is repaired to a significant extent, warranty also starts over from scratch because major part of it was replaced. Americans need to fight to get this kind of consumer protections because they are constantly getting screwed over.
    • Microsoft releases new Windows 11 Media Creation Tool with the latest updates by Taras Buria Patch Tuesday updates arrive every month, bringing users new features and security updates. To make sure customers have access to the most recent images, Microsoft also releases updates to the Media Creation Tool app, its official utility for Windows 11 installation. Today, the company pushed new ISOs to Media Creation Tool, allowing you to create images with the June 2026 Patch Tuesday updates. With the latest update, the Media Creation Tool now downloads KB5094126. It is Windows 11 version 25H2, build 26200.8655, which is also available via Windows Update. Note that the app itself remains on the previous version, which you can check in Properties > Details. The only change is that it now downloads a more recent Windows 11 build, so the only way to check is to download an ISO. The June 2026 Patch Tuesday update is a special release for Windows 11, as it brings a new performance profile to make the operating system more responsive and snappier when rendering various user interface surfaces, including the Start menu, quick settings, and more. It does so by spiking processor speeds for a brief moment, resulting in higher loads for a second or two. The so-called “Low latency profile” is rolling out gradually, but you can force-enable it with the ViVeTool app. Other changes include webcam improvements, Task Manager updates, shared audio support, and more. You can download the Media Creation Tool app from the official Microsoft website using this link. Besides MCT, Microsoft lets you download Windows 11 ISO as a file directly from the official Windows 11 website. However, you will need a third-party app to write it to your USB drive. Check out this guide if you want to know how to do that.
    • Louis Rossmann suing Samsung over "990 Pro SSD warranty scam" by Sayan Sen Back in 2023, if you recall, Neowin reviewer Robbie Khan had a dispute with Samsung over his 990 Pro SSD, which was rapidly losing its health. After significant back and forth, the tech giant had finally released firmware to "stop" the issue. Interestingly, its previous flagship at the time, the 980 Pro was also facing problems leading to two consecutive sets of firmware fixes. Three years later, it looks like a similar conflict has now broken out between tech repair entrepreneur YouTuber Louis Rossmann and Samsung, as it has escalated into a threatened lawsuit after the company allegedly refused to appropriately replace a failing 990 Pro SSD that remained under warranty. According to Rossmann, a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD purchased for approximately $330 less than two years ago, began experiencing major hiccups and issues, even though he claims it had been operated under ideal cooling conditions. It was installed in a RAID 1 array and cooled by a heatsink and dual high-speed fans. However the drive reportedly started dropping out of the array, exhibiting controller-level failures that eventually became not useable in any meaningful way. Rossmann said Samsung’s support process was marked by delays and confusion from the very start. After initially contacting the wrong regional support channel, he was redirected to Samsung’s memory support division where he submitted detailed diagnostics, logs, and proof of purchase. Rossmann runs a repair company and owns an ACE Lab PC-3000 machine, which is a professional-grade data recovery equipment. As such, he had been confident in his diagnostics. Samsung even seemingly acknowledged that later. Regardless, Rossmann claims that his initial support ticket was automatically closed before a full 24-hour response window had elapsed, forcing him to reopen the case and resubmit documentation. The controversy however intensified further from here after Samsung accepted the drive for warranty evaluation but later returned it with a repair report stating that the drive had passed its testing and that the SSD had been verified as functional. Rossmann strongly disputed those claims citing that his own independent testing on PC-3000 showed write speeds reducing to as low as 40–60 MB/s before the drive failed entirely. Samsung subsequently informed him that the SSD had been reset and reflashed, passing internal stress tests. However, the company also stated that replacement units were unavailable due to an industry-wide memory shortage and suggested that a refund process could be initiated if further testing confirmed the fault. Thus, to settle, the company offered a refund of $330, the amount that was initially paid by him to make the purchase. Here, Rossmann pointed out the seeming hypocrisy of the tech giant as in how no Samsung drive was apparently allocated for warranty replacements, but they were abundantly available for retail sales especially when using business accounts. As you can see, Rossmann is indeed right, there are Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSDs on Amazon currently for $950 (shipped and sold by first-party Amazon US itself), and they are also available on Samsung's own store too, albeit for an even higher price of $1100. Thus Rossmann argues that Samsung’s inability or unwillingness to provide a replacement while the same model remains available for purchase at significantly higher market prices reflects a failure to honor its warranty obligations. He has issued a formal 60-day notice and says he intends to file suit in Texas small claims court, asserting that companies should face greater costs for denying legitimate warranty claims than for fulfilling them. You can check out the full video titled "Samsung's 990 Pro SSD warranty policy is a scam; I'm taking them to court," at the link below.
