[Cancelled] FlashForward - Season 1

Recommended Posts

Well that freaking sucks.......the last few episodes have really picked up, and considering Simon (from what I can tell) does not know that Janis is a CIA agent working for the FBI as a double agent for the people who caused the blackouts, and he came to her in last nights episode, I am wondering where exactly that is going to go (is he going to try to pass hints to her, or does think she is just a mole for the FBI and not the CIA so he may end up passing things to her openly not knowing it will get back to the FBI/CIA?). Not to mention they supposedly just caught the big boss of the operation, but it will probably turn out he is nothing more than a leader of the operation they had going on there or something.

Again, I preferred the concept, main plot, and (most) main characters/actors of FF over V, but FF had too many throwaway characters and subplots than V (Mark never won me over as a lead character). V's subplots all support the main plot pretty well, but many of FF's seem like time killers (yeah, that Keiko subplot really panned out - yawn). IMO, V told it's *dumb* story better than FF told it's *smart* story.

I don't know what they were thinking with where these shows were placed in the schedules. To me, FF would make more sense with Lost as a lead-in than V. I know "family hour" is pretty much dead (funny, considering the network is owned by Disney), but content-wise, I think their timeslots should have been reversed (V and FF).

They're going to keep V, but not FlashForward?

Meh.

Exactly! How the hell do you keep 'V' but cancel FlashForward. I sure have not been watching 'V', the show is garbage. FlashForward, even if it's just an opinion, is just better than 'V'. V will not even last another season to get renewed, nor do I think it will last half way through next season. It should of never even made it for renew, if anything, FlashForward should be given the chance.

This is such a wrong and stupid move here on ABC's part but this is not the first time, or last time, we have seen a network mess up a show or cancel too early. So many shows never get explained or explained properly because of this and it ruins TV shows.

I try my best to keep up with them both, miss a few episodes here and there, but FlashForward is just far better than V in my opinion. A lizard invasion army that is that inherently evil for no reason? It's just a cut-and-dry evil aliens are invading, and there doesn't appear to be a reason to their methods which makes it rather boring to watch.

In FlashForward, it may not have the best actors, but they're better than the V actors. The general storyline is a great premise, although there are some stupid elements thrown in that really drag the show's quality down (a ring allows a character to stay awake during the blackout? Come on). FlashForward started really great through the first few episodes, lost its focus, and now is slowly getting back to the somewhat-sci-fi-but-not-quite nature that made me like it in the first place.

You might have missed a bit if dialogue during one of the episodes.

Inside (or under) the black stone on the rings, is some electronics that anchors a persons conscious in place. Its not the ring that does it, the ring itself is sort of just for show (so the device that actually allows a character to stay awake during the blackout has an easy to recognize symbol), its the electronics that actually do the work though. Which, IMO, given it is a sci-fi show with a device capable of causing people to see into the future, it is perfectly acceptable to say a small electronic device is enough to prevent a person from blacking out from whatever causes the blackouts.

But I do agree with you, it started off strong, then sort of slowed down, and is finally starting to pick back up.

IMO they have a few small side storylines that just do not need to be there, such as Janis' whole pregnancy thing, Aaron and Tracy (so far neither of them have really added anything to the main storyline), and a few other characters and stories they opened up.....but, that could simply be because they wanted to use those characters/storylines in the future and actually tie them into the main storyline. In doing so, they spread themselves too thin and a few of the episodes between the beginning and now were an hour long but only added a half hour (or even less) to the important storyline.

Aaron and Tracy are going to (well, were going to, I suppose) be important when Jericho was revealed to be involved in the blackout (probably second blackout) somehow.

Not necessarily, couldn't they have just thrown in Jericho as an evil corporation (or whatever) that was behind the blackout? I never really followed the whole Jericho thing very close, but I was under the assumption it was simply a military organization that was into some shady things, I do not recall them being directly associated with the blackout (but I may have missed it somewhere along the slow side stories). I mean, obviously Aaron uncovered some info on Jericho that was important to the VP in the latest episode, and it very well could build up to something big later on, but my point is there seem to be tons of side-stories that, so far, have led nowhere. Its sort of like Lost (many questions with few answers), but its not quite good enough to be able to carry that load as well as Lost was able to. Its still a show I would love to see continue, but it does not seem like thats the case, so much of the time seems wasted.

No, I got that in the episodes. It still seems like a weak design to me.

IMO: This isn't really a sci-fi show, it's more of a show that revolves around real life with one extraordinary circumstance taking place. I agree that the side stories are great, though.

Yeah, but Aaron would have been in the know on Jericho, and thus needed for X reason. That was the tie back.

Getting sick to death of all the good TV being at the mercy of these complete buffoons at ABC. Oh well, time to break the bad news to my family.

I guess you can blame ABC for ruining the shows momentum with a big big break, but the shows ratings were pretty abysmal.

Thanks yet again.. here comes your + you've been great!

To be a little more specific on the date, the final episode will be on the 27th. I hope the final episode is at least decent/good for us fans, if not, it would be cool (but doubtful) of ABC to order up one or so more to close the show. Since some idiot(s) could not give it just one more season.

Season 1, Episode 21 "Countdown" Airing: 5/20/2010

Season 1, Episode 22 "Future Shock" Airing: 5/27/2010

Thanks for sharing (Y)

There is no way FF is getting canceled  I love this show and always thought it will have 5-6 seasons and end in an epic finale  I think had they given it another season, they could have done a big teasing campaign for the upcoming episodes and build up the hype, I just can't see how this show has failed with such a good plot. And for the people that say that it has too many secondary plots, how many secondary plots did Lost have ? Secondary plots are not a bad thing, a story that focuses on just one element would be boring like hell.

Allready been cancelled. :D

Thank the gods it wont be back next year.

Apart from the special effects for the first episode, the season has been nothing but lack-lusture.

Each to their own, but from the response I have seen on Neowin in general, this show is much better than many others out there, including V (which I admit I have not watched, seems kinda lame).

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
