[Cancelled] FlashForward - Season 1

Recommended Posts

Awesome episode. But one thing irritated me:

In that night scene Janis told Mark that the blueprint had been stolen from that specialist guy.

Whereas, that specialist comes in and reports it only on the next day. A smart agent like Benford would have easily figured out that Janis knew about the design being misplaced before she should have.

Other than that loved this episode. Please tell me that the ratings have improved.

This episode really surprised me. I was really disappointed in the episode where we learn

Janis is a double agent

, it was handle really badly imo. Very Lost-esque in it's last 20 second reveal after a bad episode. But, revealing that

she was a triple agent

was really well done. It tied in with the rest of the episode, but still provided a certain level of surprise.

Sometimes I wonder if the writers are incredibly stupid or incredibly smart. I?m inclined to believe the latter at the moment.

The show just keeps getting better and better. The scene with the timer and Mark dissembling it was intense and very well done. The Janice reveal was written really well! So badly hope this doesn't get cancelled.

Anyone else get the feeling that the reason the experiments were done was to prevent the world ending in 2016? Basically the wall that had all the writing on it that was washed away could have contained all the paths to take to prevent the end of the world.

Wow, the show is really getting better and better ! Awesome episode,

and I totally didn't see the "Janis being triple-agent" part coming

. I'm sure it won't be canceled, it would be just stupid. This show is the only one that has the potential to fill the gap Lost will leave when it ends this year.

@MrChuang, sounds quite likely indeed :o

Erm how is she a triple agent? i got the double bit. but sure i didnt fall asleep.. or did i? please reveal..ta

A triple agent is an agent that works for A (FBI) and is sent by B (CIA) to infiltrate C (??) as if he was working for C and infiltrating A.

I think the only thing attractive of this last episode/series, was the lesbian pickup bar... Lesbian matures looking for matures, hmmm.

the series has no sense, at all... Almost I get sleep after the 1st 15 minutes...

then why watch it week after week? at least drop the show from your watching schedule I do if it bores me

Are you serious, you watch the show for that reason? The show makes complete sense and the storyline is very impressive especially the last few episodes!

This show still has a lot of potential but if it gets ratings like it did this week then it is gone.

don't know if you saw but the international appeal could be the thing that saves this show so I would ignore ratings for now

I can't see Baltar and not think of orgies and hallucinations.

exactly...

And yea, I think I follow the show because of the NOT hot lesbians (a fat and ugly lesbian pregnant (she is super gay (sic), remember that?) of her co-worker and she is a triple agent, yea, we have a SHOW!... come on, give me a break) Its pretty weird but this show it is. There isnt a story at all.

Come on, Baltar, show us whats the real thing...

This show still has a lot of potential but if it gets ratings like it did this week then it is gone.

Speaking of renewals, word is this show may squeak into a second season, purely on the basis of its overseas revenue. (And looking at recent ratings, V has actually managed to dip below this show now, albeit following a Lost rerun instead of a new episode.) [E! Online]

I'll never understand the people that watch realty shows like Survivor. Make them go away.

I really hope ratings go back up. Would hate to see this cut off before anything really gets explained or anything else furthers with this. I love how everything is tying in now with all of the flash forwards :).

With last nights figures just being released, it's almost certain that ABC will now not renew FlashForward. Last nights numbers were the lowest and was even beaten by The Vampire Diaries in the key demos.

:(

I enjoyed this weeks though. How is this show doing that bad?!

This week?s episode was pretty poor IMO. Plot(s) wasn?t all that interesting. And the execution of the story with Simon?s sister made it seem more like filler than actually part of the plot.

And they just put out two really good episodes, I don?t understand how there could be such a dip in quality with this show.

    • Louis Rossmann suing Samsung over "990 Pro SSD warranty scam" by Sayan Sen Back in 2023, if you recall, Neowin reviewer Robbie Khan had a dispute with Samsung over his 990 Pro SSD, which was rapidly losing its health. After significant back and forth, the tech giant had finally released firmware to "stop" the issue. Interestingly, its previous flagship at the time, the 980 Pro was also facing problems leading to two consecutive sets of firmware fixes. Three years later, it looks like a similar conflict has now broken out between tech repair entrepreneur YouTuber Louis Rossmann and Samsung, as it has escalated into a threatened lawsuit after the company allegedly refused to appropriately replace a failing 990 Pro SSD that remained under warranty. According to Rossmann, a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD purchased for approximately $330 less than two years ago, began experiencing major hiccups and issues, even though he claims it had been operated under ideal cooling conditions. It was installed in a RAID 1 array and cooled by a heatsink and dual high-speed fans. However the drive reportedly started dropping out of the array, exhibiting controller-level failures that eventually became not useable in any meaningful way. Rossmann said Samsung’s support process was marked by delays and confusion from the very start. After initially contacting the wrong regional support channel, he was redirected to Samsung’s memory support division where he submitted detailed diagnostics, logs, and proof of purchase. Rossmann runs a repair company and owns an ACE Lab PC-3000 machine, which is a professional-grade data recovery equipment. As such, he had been confident in his diagnostics. Samsung even seemingly acknowledged that later. Regardless, Rossmann claims that his initial support ticket was automatically closed before a full 24-hour response window had elapsed, forcing him to reopen the case and resubmit documentation. The controversy however intensified further from here after Samsung accepted the drive for warranty evaluation but later returned it with a repair report stating that the drive had passed its testing and that the SSD had been verified as functional. Rossmann strongly disputed those claims citing that his own independent testing on PC-3000 showed write speeds reducing to as low as 40–60 MB/s before the drive failed entirely. Samsung subsequently informed him that the SSD had been reset and reflashed, passing internal stress tests. However, the company also stated that replacement units were unavailable due to an industry-wide memory shortage and suggested that a refund process could be initiated if further testing confirmed the fault. Thus, to settle, the company offered a refund of $330, the amount that was initially paid by him to make the purchase. Here, Rossmann pointed out the seeming hypocrisy of the tech giant as in how no Samsung drive was apparently allocated for warranty replacements, but they were abundantly available for retail sales especially when using business accounts. As you can see, Rossmann is indeed right, there are Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSDs on Amazon currently for $950 (shipped and sold by first-party Amazon US itself), and they are also available on Samsung's own store too, albeit for an even higher price of $1100. Thus Rossmann argues that Samsung’s inability or unwillingness to provide a replacement while the same model remains available for purchase at significantly higher market prices reflects a failure to honor its warranty obligations. He has issued a formal 60-day notice and says he intends to file suit in Texas small claims court, asserting that companies should face greater costs for denying legitimate warranty claims than for fulfilling them. • Was it too much to ask to show the icon in this article?
    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
