i_was_here
The V8 has a variable speed fan (800 - 1800RPM) whereas the TRUE 1366 RT's fan only spins at 1600RPM. Vice
Well I'm sure that Extreme 120 is louder than V8 no? Up to 82C and under is normal for overclocked i7s. It's not recommended that you keep it running 24/7 at those temps but Prime 95 is not really an everyday scenario in any case. My normal temps are like 40-45c now with overclock (they were 35c with no overclock). No its much quieter. It has a single 120mm fan and it spins at a constant 1,600RPM - I can't even hear it over my GTX260's which both spin at 40%. My case in general is incredibly quiet it has 4x140mm Fans and Sound suppressive padding inside but even so I can't hear the Extreme 120. That is partly why it's so exspensive. rareandfirsts
Well finally finished tonight the new i7 build, considering we talked about it in the other thread. Overall everything went great. No problems and I have to say I was very impressed with new Antec case. The 1200. It could use a bit more screw-less stuff but overall very well thought out.Unfortunately RAM is not all here cause it wasn't delivered but I'm getting it tomorrow so it'll be finally done. Well off to installing the system now and I'll maybe post some benchmarks so people can compare results. Also, V8 Cooler Master is one of the nicest and quietest CPU coolers I've used. The thing is incredibly big but works very well thanks to the 120mm fan inside. Enjoy. Sweet box. I had to register just to tell you so. Me, I'm an AMD guy (please don't hit me) but have to respect your choices in this configuration. well done.
