Randomly getting .Net Framework immediately followed by GMN crashing and bogging the whole system down.

and Multiple months of nothing as far as updates/posts by creator, switching to IMAP through email program

sorry dude, good idea, just seems like your starting to loose interest

The program seems to not be informing me of new emails. GMN said there was no new mail, but when I logged into my account, I had 3 new pieces of mail.

edit: It looks like it was stuck saying (when you aeropeek) "checking mail".

Hey guys

I'm brazilian and this is the first time that I write in this forum. Sorry for my bad english.

I had downloaded the gmail notifier plus 2.1. Is this the last version?

I have a problem with this program. It was working perfectly. But it's no more.

The program is showing this message: please check your account settings. I did everything that I know.

Can someone help me?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot of this! I can finally use Chrome now :p

Can you tell me how you made it? It's still doesen't work with Chrome on my PC :/ I always have to login first, before checking my inbox of gmail. Is there a tool for Chrome like "Redirect" (Firefox)?

Greetings and thx!

This is a really nice program.

Suggestion:

Could we have an option to specify a different web browser for each account? This would allow two separate Gmail accounts to be accessed without having to change the user and relogin each time.

Hi all:

First all, thanks a lot for the program, it's very useful!!!.

I have a little problem, the program warns me if there is new mail but when I click on Inbox button in order to see it, in the page it shows me I must to introduce the password. I imagine I should be taken to Inbox directly, right?.

Thanks and regards!

First off, commendations for a very useful program that skims some time off the annoying task of checking for new emails. Plus it looks quite nice.

I noticed that the lastest version fixes one of my issues (the text was hard to read on skinned versions of 7), however there is still a small problem that applies to people who use gmail's multiple inboxes lab or have specific email filters that direct some emails to 'skip the inbox'.

Note that 'multiple inboxes' doesn't mean multiple email addresses funnelled into one inbox, it means that one email address has 2 or more 'pseudo-inboxes'. Ex. a "work" inbox for emails/memos from *@yourcompany.com, a "social" inbox for emails/alerts from facebook and the like, and maybe a "promos" inbox for things that are border-line spam but might come in handy.

Anyways, with filters, emails with the set characteristics are told to 'skip the inbox', are labelled, and are now in the pseudo inbox instead. The notifier however, looks only for emails corresponding to the following query:

l:unread l:inbox

I would love to have a small box where I can put a custom search. ex.

l:unread (l:inbox)|(l:work)|(l:social)|(l:promos)

Could it be possible?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work,

Mike

PS - How about if the app called home once every week or two weeks to check if the vers. no. matched the one on the site?

I found that it goes wrong when received a letter which didn?t have the sender.

I remember that it cause the netframwork's wrong and cannot receive new letters any more.

Any way, I come to tell you this because I love your works very much and wish it better and better.

FYI people, the creator has disappeared.

Would it be allowed for me to decompile this and fix some of the bugs for the people here? I could do it easily but don't know if it's allowed.

I hope so

Same here. I've found that these gmail notifiers are just that, notifiers. I've tried pretty much all of them and all that I've tried have a problem going to a specific email when clicked from within the notifier. Either don't go to the inbox or they want auto login.

Whilst obviously not the most respectful action, I see no kind of license or even copyright notification in the application, and given the developer has been gone quite so long I don't think he'd mind too much.

The about screen only says 'Created by [the dev]' - the copyright refers to Google's copyright of Gmail.

So, if you're fine with the grounds you'd be doing it on, I'd say go ahead.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with ad blockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Samsung Browser'. It has very little bloat and is a nice-looking web browser with an inbuilt 'Ad blocker'. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. This browser can also install Chrome extensions. I have a system wide Ad blocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the web browser, but over the whole system. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt ad blocker because of that.
