Everything is ok now?

The rage candle has been put out?

Not really, because now there is a problem many people are having when they go to launch the game. The "Installation is incomplete" error (2).

Apparently it's easily fixed though.

Just got done playing Dead Center campaign on advanced. So far, it looks really good. The gameplay feels much more intense than the first one. Looking forward to playing it some more in the coming days.

Good game. Shame the match making is worse than MW2 and keeps putting me in servers located in the US. 400 ping? YEAH! That and no one wants to wait around for a lobby to fill, it's worse than on the 360. ;/

Been sitting here for 5 mins waiting for a lobby to fill. Awesomesauce.

Have you played it?

Played the DEMO. Wasn't that impressed with it as a full price upgrade.

That isn't to rain on anyone's parade or anything of that sort. We are all allowed to make whatever purchase choices we want with our money :).

I'm sure I'll pick it up when it is ~$20.

The demo which gave almost no indication of what to expect from the new levels or modes?

Please post when/if you see any great deals on this game. I'm in no hurry to buy it since I just recently picked up Batman and Resident Evil 5. But I would definitely order it whenever I see the discount.

Side note, I've been reading some reviews and haven't seen any mentions of graphics. Is it the same L4D engine from the first one? Or some upgrades? Just wondering how to expect it to run on my system.

The demo which gave almost no indication of what to expect from the new levels or modes?

How did the demo not give a good indication of what to expect from the new levels? Were there not two new levels in the demo?

And it's not like the separate modes really play all that different, IMO.

The demo was a poor indicator of how good the game is imo. I didn't find the demo that impressive, thought most of the models and stuff were from l4d1 which was dissapointing, no info about other maps or game modes. The game itself is NOTHING like the first, they've fixed pretty much every issue the first had and then some.

Realism mode is TOUGH. (1. no glow around items 2. no glow around survivors (crazy hard) 3. 1 hit kill from witch 4. No respawning 5. Headshot kills only)

The maps are so much more impressive then the first l4d, as well as the AI director.

The special infected are much smarter (aside from boomers which are still pretty dumb..lol) but I was on a rooftop playing today and i was watching a Jocky run and hide behind cars so i couldnt' shoot him until he almost completely flanked me and when i opened the door he was right outside waiting for me. The game itself feels so much harder and makes l4d 1 feel so easy. Some finale's and maps are random, meaning everything from weapons/ammo/health/switches etc as well as pick up locations are random and COULD change.

But possibly the biggest change is that there is very little room for camping, or running, which was a big problem in l4d 1. If you run, you WILL die. If you camp, you WILL die. It's almost impossible to camp at panic events because of the pace of the game and the things you are made to do.

Overall it's a complete overhaul of l4d1, totally different.

Have you guys noticed how demo versions are ALWAYS a bad indication, no matter what platform or game it never seems to represent anything decent from the games

The answer always seem to be; shell out for the game, zOMG!!1 ... Demos are created to entice users, if it's a bad representation, who's to blame?

Exactly. And very rarely have I ever played a demo that doesn't represent the game well. In fact, I can't recall a single time.

Checked it out for a few today, just did a Single Player Campaign with AI help.

Did the first level, and Damn that mall part is giving me major problems when you open the door and have to get to the third level to disable the alarm.

So far no matter what path I choose to take I die. Just cannot get past that part (again SP) and it is driving me mad.

I did find a chainsaw already, good times indeed with it.

I would say it was well worth the $40 I spent. Easily. Main reason is I had not touched my PC for gaming in a long, long time, and now I finally have a real good reason to game on my PC again.

it's not that it's a bad representation of the game... but it's only 2 levels (very poor choic of levels too imo) And is missing half the weapons, only shows you about half of the type of zombies etc.. Strictly game play speaking, it's exactly like the full game, but the full game has much more to offer.

The demo which gave almost no indication of what to expect from the new levels or modes?

Not my problem. The job of the DEMO is to show me the best they've got so I'm inclined to buy the game. If they failed to deliver then they fail to get a sale. It isn't my loss ;). I can always spend my money on something else. As I did with Batman. Played the DEMO and liked what I saw and purchased the game two days later.

Of course the full game has more to offer compared to the demo

    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.

    • Not sure what country you’re in but in many countries you can absolutely jail the sellers behind businesses… in fact I’d say in most countries you can do that
