Can't believe the US beat spain, especially considering they where at practically full strength. Next year's world cup is IMO one of the most open for a long time, I wouldn't even want to pick a favourite

We were only on 2 days rest too ;)! Now only if we could stay out of penalty trouble.

I supported Brazil since I was a kid.... The 90's Brazil team are much, much better than the silly excuse of a team we now call Brazil. I hope the US wins it just to avenge South Africa and Egypt. Brazil's horrible teamwork and lack of fluency make them unworthy of winning this cup.

The American players certainly learned a lesson today - by the end of the game, do not underestimate your opponent.

BTW there are many people saying that the U.S. are lucky and this is just false. US soccer is improving every year, acquiring its own identity, more and more american players are going play in Spain, Germany, Italy and moving away from the England-USA axis. This is great for american soccer and exactly what it's needs. My highlight goes to Dempsey, great player and Howard excellent goalkeeper.

that doesnt even make sense. Where you happy when the US didnt win in olypmics basketball in 04, because afterall they are really the only "true" baseketball nation?

Hes just being the typical person that he has always been. The US played very well and it was disappointing to see them give up the lead.
